Yes, this is possible. When you look at things yourself, you are doing so within your own limitations, your own personal feelings and emotions, and your attachment material or immaterial. You had much to consider as you feel this impacts you directly.
When you look through the eyes of the figment of your imagination, you find that you are free from these bondages and are able to perceive with better clarity and objectivity. And thus can make better judgement or decision than you personally can.
I guess you can find this personification in writers who write wondrous stories beyond current imaginations.

No. You have a limit on your intelligence, represented by X. The figment is coming from your imgination, so it is limited by X just as you are. If the figment has abilities that seem to exceed your own, that is because part of your intelliegence lies in your unconscious mind. You can have abilities you don't know about. So, X is therefore expanded in that case. But the figment is still only a portion of you, not a whole. While you are always X (expandable to an unknown size) your figment can be at most x ( a part of X). A part is always smaller than the whole. And because the figment IS a part of you, not the whole you, it cannot be smarter than you.
For the sake of argument, let us assume that your figment has an IQ of 170, while yours is only 120. If that is so, then your true IQ is 170, but you may not know it. that is because you and your figment are one. And while your figment may know many things, it does not know X, which is the total of everything you know. Your figment is like a sidekick, not the primary hero.....

Absolutely! You created that figment, so it can be anything you want it to be. For example, if you want him (or her) to be a nuclear physicist, YOU don't have to be one too. You can simply picture that person handily solving puzzles that baffle the greatest minds in the universe. You don't have to explain HOW s/he does it, or what the process is. You can simply picture them smiling, and saying, disingenuously "It wasn't really that difficult.Just the application of a basic principle with a few little twists."
Figments of the imagination are what most characters in novels begin as - then they grow, and take on depth until they become very real to their author (and, hopefully, to their reader) but neither the reader nor the author has to be able to do all the things that alter-ego can do.
That's a long winded way of saying yes, your figment can be smarter than you.
Enjoy the day!

Yes of course. He/she being a figment of your imagination will have absolute freedom to say and "do" anything. Without even bearing the consequences. That's why, being only in your imagination, he can "seem" smarter, sassier, braver...etc etc. We go through life doing the best we can, but always have to think of where our actions or our beliefs lead us. These "sensors" in our imagination have the privilege of being secure and safe. They are not real, so nothing can hurt them. That is why they always "seem", and I stress that word, smarter than you. Put them on the street, in real life, and let's see how they score then, dealing with the day-to-day problems and challenges we have to face!

Absolutely. Think of any fiction book you have ever read and walked away from feeling like you learned something from a character. Take Hannibal Lector, he is a genius, psychotic yes, but still genius. The glory of imagination is anything is possible. Someone can be taller, thinner, more attractive and yes, smarter than you as well. Its Imagination, there are only the limits you set on it. :)

Hmmm... kinda like getting in an argument with yourself and losing, huh? It;s possible... if that figment of your imagination is a suppressed identity of yourself. Maybe secretly you have the smarts, but for some reason it has been suppressed but still comes out as a figment of your imagination that expresses what you really deep down would like to reveal about yourself but are afraid to

They can be, because your imagination can create anything you want. If you're imagination says they are smarter, they are smarter.
Of course they are really only smarter in your perception, since the person is a figment of your imagination. Them being smarter than you in your imagination is no different from them existing in your imagination. The key point is that in your imagination, anything is possible. That's what makes it your imagination!

Really an interesting question. I write fiction and my
characters are infinitely smarter than I am because they
have no real ego. There's no one to judge them expect
fictionally, they experience the kinds of freedom that
sometimes are impossible in real life, leaving them free
to do exactly what they want. Repercussions are experienced
as challenges, not problems and they always figure a way
out of their situations with the cleverest of schemes. This
is the reason most people write, and when they do, they're
the smartest people on earth.

Yes, I think so. Since she's a figment of your imagination, the boundaries are endless. It will still be up to you as to how smart she could be. Besides, if you're going to make a dark half of yours, better make it smarter right? Hence, what the use?

No. Your imagination cannot be smarter than you becuase all it is, is what your mind can create on it's own. For instance, if your "Imaginary friend" as it were, is only a figment of your imagination, it can only say something to you that your brain knows. You have created the "figment" so it can only be as smart as what has created it... understand?
If this hasn't helped - a simple answer would be: No because your imagination can't be smarter than your imagination... get it?
lol i hope i've helped...
