I'm not sure which one you are talking about, I am soon to be a member of Phi Theta Cappa, that is an honor society. I know with it there are tons of scholarships available just for members, you get special honors at graduation, and it helps you out tremendously if you plan to transfer to a 4 year school.
Mine was an invitation from my school, not just a random mailing.

my kids got those, too. Your name will be in small print in a book which you can buy, or you can pay and have your bio and photo in the book. It is only a money-making scheme aimed at smart students. You'll probably get more mail from them asking if you want to buy this and that from them to show you are on the Honor Roll such as a charm or certificate. The only benefit I see is to list it on your college resume'.

It's a scam. Like Who's Who books. No college gives a crap if you were in Who's Who but they now have your info for marketing and if they are lucky $30 from buying a book. It adds up.

i think of it could be super, yet should not be required for faculty young ones with getting to understand disabilities, as an occasion. getting to understand a distant places language opens your recommendations to different cultures, supply you get right of entry to to certainly one of those super style of issues (song, books, web pages, television shows/video clips, and so on.), would be clever on your activity or to holiday, and so on. people learn extra effective than one language in lots of international locations with out having any considerable concern with it and this is been shown that getting to understand/understanding yet another language is powerful for the getting previous recommendations.

omgosh. it's a scam. it's not important, it's worth nothing!!! my sister got one and it was in a very fancy envelope and everything but all they are trying to do is make you buy stuff. you don't get anything except for what you bought and that's worth nothing to colleges and stuff.
