My wedding is next year and I would like to have rose petals everywhere.I have 20 tables, I am scattering them in a pool and the flower girls need some. I want a very dramatic effect as this is the only flowers I am having. I have talked to a couple florists who sell them by the corsage box. Online they sell them by the pound which confuses me. Also if anyone has had a good experience with an online company please let me know.

check with your florists again...rose petals are like feathers, you get a lot for your $...buy a box, and a pound of them. (now, while you have time to place them around, and arrange them on a sample table) pre set the date, if it is near a flower holiday-valentine, mothers day you may have a hard time getting them, or have to pay more..even if you have to order from several places...
you still have time! work it to your best advantage!
good luck, and congrats!

I'm sure the sites others have given you are good sites. I'm only here to offer some advice to you. Check with the church and reception sites. Some don't allow real petals. Darker colored rose petals can stain if they are walked on when they are on top of carpet. If you go with artificial, you can began to stockpile the petals now, and they do no damage. You must also remember, fragrant flowers(petals) should not be used around food.

artificial or real rose petals?

artificial you can get about anywhere.
oriental trading
wal-Mart

Real ones: the poster above me gave a website.

Good luck.

Check where you are getting married to see if real rose petals can be used by the flower girl. At our church you can only use artificial.
