I used to dance and cheerlead professionally for a football team and since I have a new career I haven't had time to workout near as much. I feel fine but everyone keeps reminding me on how good I used to look. Do you think I'm overweight for my height or should I try to get back down to my old weight of 115.

140 lb is not overweight for your height but it is towards the higher end of the "healthy weight" range for your height.
You could probably lose some pounds (not necessarily to your former weight) but more important is to do some exercise. Do something you enjoy and can fit into your schedule. It is easier to do something with a group so that you have to attend or let them down!

Since everyone's body is different, you should ask your doctor. Some might say, yes, that is a tad overweight, while others (like me) would say a little bit of meat on some bones is always good. Don't listen to other people, you should find out by asking your doctor and getting some important information and learn more about your actual ideal weight instead of going off and starting something that could be harmful. Good luck!

You are not overweight yet but you are border-line as far as your health is concerned. Some people to wear the extra weight better than others but as far as your health goes you should try and lose some of that weight that you have gained. Your BMI which is a scientific caclulation of if you are overweight is a 24 and 25 is overweight unless you are a bodybuilder.

Lol... your bra length provides no indication approximately besides the fact that if or not you're obese. Your BMI (physique-mass index) is 25.6, which falls into the obese variety (25-29.9). besides the fact that, BMI would not think approximately lean muscular tissues. So, while you're an athlete and function a extreme share of lean mass (muscle), BMI isn't a correct thank you to confirm besides the fact that if or not you're obese. in case you have not have been given a extreme share of lean mass, you may want to lose 4-5 pounds to fall into the conventional BMI variety, that's 18.5-24.9.

140 pounds at your height is definitely not fat. But it's probably a little heavy on the Dr's office chart. I would guess an ideal weight for 5'4" would be around 125 to 130.

it depends on your weight i lift weights i am 5 5 and weigh 157 but my fat index is almost 0 so it really has to be determined on your muscle and bone structure age also plays a factor the weight and bmi changes with age all these need to be taken to account before determining if you have a weight issue if you are 140 that is considered healthy and acutally slightly below average of course like i said im not sure how old you are but it think you sound like your just fine

I think your weight is technically in the healthy range but if you do want to lose weight I think it would be a good change. It sounds like it would boost your self confidence, health, and help you get fit. find time to go to the gym, or a quick jog, or even just do a couple exercises while watching tv or before going to sleep. it is a great goal to have and so worth it when you start to see the results. go for it! & good luck :)

It's hard to tell as you didn't say your age, which is a factor.
I'd think that 125 would be a better weight for you. You could go down to 120, or even back to 114, but if you're getting older, 114 might now be a bit light.

People don't realize that their comments can make you feel worried or feel bad. Please forgive them.

Your not fat at all. You are at a healthy weight. Sounds like you are self conscious though. You should workout just to stay healthy. You have to find the time to take care of yourself. I just joined a bootcamp that meets at 5:30 in the morning. It is early but at least I get to work out before work and I have plenty of energy for the rest of the day.

How old are you? I'm also 5"4 and 140 is within your BMI, but it's at the upper end. I'm best around 125-130.
