sitting here with my bible in my hands, but I dont know where to start, Why am I afraid? I have been under so much stress, with bills, husband, child, the same woes and struggles everyone else has, I pray, but I feel like I have lost faith. Does God still want me to pray?? Where did my belief, where did my faith go?

Yes. God wants you to pray and the Holy Spirit is obviously in you that you want to pray. Your faith and beliefs are still there. An old guy in our Bible Study used to say "when you feel far from God, ask yourself 'Who moved?'" The world draws us away from Him but you are very much on the right path to be close to him again. You are in my prayers tonight.

James 1:2-8
Consider it pure joy my brothers whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverance. Perserverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea blown and tossed by the wind. The man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man unstable in all his ways.

James 5:13-16
Is any one of you in trouble? he should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songsof praise. IS any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned he will be forgiven. Therfore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of righteous man is powerful and effective.

Everyone will face their own troubles in life the key is to not let things keep you down for a long time, you should trust in God that everything will get better. At the same time you should work to try and improve on your situation, take steps to change in order to make it better. There are also times when u feel alone but you are not. Trials make you grow in the end perservere and you will make it through the storm. Don't lose sight of your hope and dreams or of God, with the loss of hope comes the loss of wanting to try anymore so don't lose hope and continue to make an effort to improve what is happening.

I hope this helped, I hope things improve, God bless.

Personally, I get a lot of relief and peace from meditation. Just being quiet, and breathing deeply into the emotion. I am often surprised at what comes up, why I have been triggered. There is something known as the 'still small voice within' and I listen for that, and consider it intuitive guidance from God, and hopefully follow it and make good choices.

What I think you are experiencing is something all spiritual people go through. Something known as the 'dark night of the soul'.
You are changing and evolving. As you grow, your understanding of the Lord and Life in general will change. It is not usually comfortable.

For me, this is a time to be quiet, I don't really want to talk to anyone much about these phases, many people mean well and might be most scholarly, but they still don't get it.

Fear is the natural response. As we go from one place in our faith to the next higher place, there is a void we must be in.

What we are going through here is beyond words anyway.
Our re-actions tend to be to feel constrained and compressed. It takes courage, but a good thing to do with the breath is to expand, let go, get into it, get into the mystery.

Hello dear
all of us go through these difficult times. It's the hardest knowing that God is so close and yet we can't hear Him. I've been there :)

consder meditating over this scripture:
Isaiah 43
18 "Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.

19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.

It helped me enormously last year when I went through an overwhelming time in my life.

blessings to you dear
Jesus loves you and will NEVEr forsake you :)

People lose God all the time. They lose faith. It is the strong ones to realize that. You can find lots of sermons and preachings on u tube. If you have a radio find a Christian station. Or just take your bible, open it up to any page and start reading. If you dont understand start a bit before to get caught up. ALways remeber that God is there and always will be even if He seems invisible.

When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
your love, O LORD, supported me.

When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought joy to my soul.

-Psalm 94:18-19

Just be honest with God about everything - how hopeless and weak you are feeling right now. God is strong in our weakness. This is the time when you need to completely, and I mean completely, leave all your cares in God's hands and trust Him. Whilst you may not be feeling strong in faith just use the little that you have to believe that he will find a way out for you. Perhaps God has brought you to this place in order for you to realise your dependence on Him. I have been where you are - to the point where all I could do is sob uncontrollably with fear. With the little bit of faith I had, God in His goodness gave me the grace to go on.
I'll pray for you. God Bless.

God is close to the weary my friend, the broken.Turn on some worship music, trust him dear one.Do you know just saying God I will trust you is all he needs from you.He is greater then the circumstances you are faced with.Just TRUST in the simplicity that he created you fearfully and wonderfully,He still has a plan.Seek him with all that you are and he promises you will find him.You know Jesus would have died just for you alone,God is the author and finisher of our faith.Your faith only needs to be the size of a mustard seed,he is in charge to grow you as well. You are blessed and loved by God who will lift you,he reaches down for us even when we cannot reach up to him.Begin to thank him for something, anything your floor, the roof over your head, your child that is healthy, your car.I dont care what it is praise him and thank him for what you have instead of what you do not.
