What would it cost to get a tooth filled? Would you have to get and pay for X-rays too?

Erica - A filling on the back tooth can up go into the $200 range (a white, composite filling) - depending on how large your cavity is. If you don't care about getting a tooth-colored filling, some dentists will do the silver, amalgam filling - and it costs a lot less. Yes, you would have to get an x-ray on that tooth - it may run you around $10. Call a local dental school or even Sears Dental - they should have the lowest prices.

You could go to one of the dental schools to get the work done. It cost about half what you'd pay in an average dental office. I've done it and found that they can handle simple stuff fairly well, but anything very complicated I wouldn't trust them with. Just make sure the supervising teacher pays attention and oversees the work. DO NOT trust the student, no matter how confident they sound.

that depend on if it composit or amalgam but like everyone said call a dentist in your area but you could ask if they use a sliding scale where they charge a certain amount for a procedure depending on how much your income is also you could ask to pay in incraments instead of just paying it all at one time, hope this helps
