My students are fond of turning paper clips into wasps, but that is a weapon, so strike that. : ) How about a fishhook, mini slingshot, or zipper pull?

If you could extract every bit of energy out of 1 paperclip, according to Einsteins E=Mc^2, you would have enough energy to blow up New York.

Two large, conventional paper clips each folded out to make a 90 deg. angle and then the base spread a little, could be used as book-ends for Post-It note pads.
Two Owl-Brand clips, flattened to make a square, somewhat "U'" shape and then expanded can be placed into the corners of your mouth to spread your lips so you can keep a smile at the teacher even when you don't want to.
Or you can insert one of those U clips into your nostrils to spread and enlarge them like some athletes do with those adhesive expander strips they put on the outside of their noses.

You could invent a device that is capable of holding multiple sheets of paper together, but doesn't put holes into the sheets of paper. You can probably make other things, too, but that's the first one to come to mind.
