One of the main reasons this happens is that you cut your calorie intake so sharply to lose weight and your metabolism slows down. Then you start eating normal amounts again and with the slow down of your metabolism you gain weight again. To keep this from happening cut your calorie intake down small bits at a time and up your excercise until you have lost the weight you want to lose. Then when you lose that amount, slowly increase your food intake again. Keep a close eye on the scales. Don't let it creep up on you again.

Not if they eat the right foods. Yes this can happen when you fast for long periods of time as you must eat to keep the metabolism going. If you starve yourself your body slows down to protect itself so when you do start to eat normal again and your metabolism has shut way down yes it will cause you to gain weight but if you increase your metabolism and eat the right foods you have nothing to worry about. The trick is don't starve your self diet sensibly

it happens when you are undereating.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and that's how much you need to lose weight.
eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones.
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day.
8 glasses of water a day.
4-6 times a week cardio work out for 30-50min plus light weight training.
no junk food, no sodas, no white flour (white bread, pasta, cookies, cakes etc)

You only gain all the weight back if you go on a crash diet or a fad diet
ex... atkins, south beach, weight watchers, etc.
just eat healthier and if you just eat healthy all your life with only a small amount of bad food severy here and there. you'll be fine. and you wont gain any weight
how can you gai weight if you just eat healthy all y our life. you'll just lose weight and then stay constant
of course you can still have bad foods like ice cream, just i portions and not everyday just once a week or so.

the whole key to dieting is to eat the right foods... not how much you eat... you can eat all the salad in the world but if you eat salad instead of bigmacs, you're not gonna gain as much weight. eat a lot of dietary fiber it helps you eliminate calories and keeps you satisfied longer... again, you find fiber in green leafy vegetables and whole wheat, as well as, fruits! so eat those veggies!

when people say they're eating "normal" again. Most of the time, they mean they are eating the way they were before which is how they got overweight in the first place.

that only happens to people who arent eating enough calories to boost their metaolism and time to time they put their bodies to "starvation mode". if you are eating healthy, getting enough calories with exercise, you should have to worry about that happening to you. also, try eating snack portion sized meals every 3-4 hours to prevent you from going "starvation mode" and drink at least 80 ounces of water a day. preferred: a glass of water every hour. hope this helped!
