you know what, for a while i wondered the same thing. then this boy, white by the way, explained to me that his cousin went with a black girl and his parents werent racist, but his grandparents on his mothers side was. so even though his parents werent, knowing old people sopmetimes they cant have the past be the past, and still seem to live in the times where we were slaves, which isnt right, but as much as you want to change it, you cant, sometimes its not possible to change a persons beleifs , and sometimes it is. but regardless, when this happens, they become almost like an outcast to their family.

I will correct you by saying not all white men are scared of approaching black women, only the chicken ones anyway. Lets face it, guys in general are afraid of being rejected by women they like. I have dated white men in the past, and am seeing one now. I havent been with a guy who was scared to date me, maybe its different for you.

Well i have never run into this problem, i actually get the opposite reaction. I've had white guys date me cause they hear some rumour that black chicks do things other girls wont, or cause they think that because I'm from Barbados, I'm some exotic being. I can be in the million man march and that one white man passing by will find my ***. lol.
All jokes aside, some of my white male friends say its because we come off as aggressive, and lets be honest some of us do, some of us black women swear that going white just ain't right. but whatever man. My man's white, and he ain't scared, as a matter of fact he like to challenge me.

A couple of reasons, I can think of. First as much as we might not like to think it but there is still racism going on in the world he may be concerned about what people may say.
Another reason is different races have different ways of life he may not be educated and fearful of what is different about a black person and a white or chines or whatever person. Fear has a lot to do with it. Try to invite him over let him see how you live and he might see you are not so different after all.

I am not white (I am latino) I have dated black women in my lifetime. However, I must say that it has been my experience that Black women are the hardest to approach. Not to say that they are mean or better than other women but the ones I have approached seem to have really high standards when it comes to choosing their men. Sometimes, it feels that if you don't come with your A game when stepping to a black woman you will get laughed out of the room (especially if she is with her friends).

I think that white guys are somewhat intimidated by black females...it might have something to do with the negative stereotypes out there saying we're gold-diggers and b*tches/hoes.I also think they sometimes worry about what others will say if they find out about the relationship.I have no problem with interracial dating. And as I get older I'm finding out that a lot of white guys are attracted to me.
Hope this was helpful,Good Luck!!! :)

Careful with those sweeping statements.
I have found myself attracted to a few black women before, but I caught myself because (at the times) I figured she (they?) wouldn't be interested in a white boy like me.

Cause they aren't used to it. They see their parents relationship as the model relationship. Also, they may not have much experiance with the black american culture of thinking. Still, with stereotypes goin around, someone may be nervous he's gettin into somethin dangerous.

I don't think that they all are. Most Caucasian men that I've noticed tend to date educated African American women, who are generally more refined. My sister dates just about every race, and they all find her very attractive, intelligent, and intriguing.
