i know the rule is usually an hour per oz of alcohol so.. if i took about lets say no more then 8 shots worth of alcohol tonight.. will it be out of my system (bloodstream) in 8 hours? especially if i have a very high metabolism and drink tons of water. i have to get a blood test tommorrow in order to take a certain type of medication.. will it show up? will they even say something even since its irrevelant? or because im underage?

sorry sweetie its not gonna be outta your system in 8 hours,
I believe that it takes up to 3 days to not show if you were
specifically being checked for alcohol by blood work.
even if it does show up i doubt the docter will say anything
about it, It won't show very much of a level, and he probably
isn't looking for that anyway! If they do find something dont
lie just tell them that you had a few shots, I doubt it would
go any further than a shake of his head or a warning on what
alcohol can do to your body, im pretty sure your confidentuality will not suffer. Like them going to your mom or dad about it, they wouldn't call the cops over something minor like that! Too much paper work lol. don't worry you

Your liver metabolizes alcohol at a set rate somewhere between 20 and 30 mg/dl/hr, so if you're right at the 80 mg/dl that most states use as the cutoff for drunk driving, it'll take 3 or 4 hours. Having a fast metabolism only counts if your alcohol dehydrogenase enzymes are fast, and that's doubtful. Drinking lots of water doesn't change it either. I wouldn't think they'd do a blood alcohol test, but if you're supposed to be taking some medication, it may not mix with alcohol, and this may not have been the smartest thing you ever did. And you may have bumped your liver enzymes, which would throw a monkey wrench into the plans for lots of medicines.

It actually takes 48 hours for the alcohol to leave your system. You can take a driving test 48 hours after drinking and provably still show the effects of alcohol on your abilities. In lots of science classes, I have never heard the oz. per hour "rule." I wouldn't count on it.
If you were not supposed to drink, and did, why? You need to answer that for yourself.
Drinking water, even tons of it, will not change the alcohol in your system for the test.

They most likely wont look for it, drug tests are almost always for narcotics.
