Bring a huge pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Drop the lobster in. If it is orange now, it has been steamed already; you just need to warm it up. So I'd say maybe 2-3 min in the hot water, then remove. If it's dark brownish, it's raw (and they froze it alive?!) and you'll need to cook it about 7-9 minutes, depending upon how thawed it is.

Melt some butter in the microwave, in a tall, clear glass container like a measuring cup. Remove, and set aside to let it settle. The milk solids fall to the bottom and are cloudy. The yellow on top is the butterfat, and what is served w/ lobster. This is called "drawn butter" or "clarified butter." You can add a bit of garlic to it if you like. Put some of the calrified butter in a pot, add a fresh sliced garlic clove to it, and heat over med heat. Remove from heat and let sit. Remove garlic bits and serve garlicky butter w/ your lobster!

Is it cooked or raw? Well either way it doesnt really matter.. let your Lobster completely thaw. Break tail away from body, remove meat from tail. Chop meat into medium to large chunks, set aside. Melt butter in frying pan and add garlic(1 or more "toes" depending on tase) to it, sautee for about 2 minutes, add your lobster chunks and sautee for about 5 minutes(if lobster is cooked previously, just cook til heated thru) until meat is opaque and not transparent. Pour it over linguine and serve with a side salad and french bread for a great dinner. P.S. add salt and pepper to taste.
