if a rooster lays an egg, it wouldn't be a rooster, it would be a hen. roosters don't lay eggs. if you are talking about a hen, then it depends on the type of chicken it is.(yes there are a ton of different breeds of chickens) some lay brown, white, green, orange. And yes they actually do lay green and orange.
