Why did he appear as a pillar of smoke and a column of fire to those who escaped Egypt? Why did he manifest the ten plagues so even Pharoah would know He exists?

And if he was willing to do all that despite his desire for faith and freewill, why doesn't he do stuff like that today?

You really don´t understand. God did those miracles when the children of Israel had been praying to him to get them out of Egypt. God still does miracles today in answer to prayer.
The part about Pharoah was to show the Egyptians that their gods were not the true God, and he systematically destroyed a kingdom founded upon lies.
HE IS doing that stuff today. His hand is on everything that is happening and he is not happy with the USA. The further we get from the will of God the worse things will get...

God worked these miracles that you speak of so that the children of Israel, as well as Pharoah would know beyond a doubt that He is the living God. The creator. Alpha and Omega.
He still works miracles today. Nothing so grand as the parting of the Red Sea, but miracles nonetheless.
There are many people in our church that are walking miracles themselves. You must be able to see with a greater understanding, and an open heart, instead of looking at everything in doubt, as most people do. Instant gratification is the rule of the day, and when people do not get that instant gratification, they begin to doubt the validity of what they sek, and seek elsewhere.

Because those things happened to the "Children of Israel" They were Children in their ability to follow and believe and constantly had to be shown and proven too that their God was GOD. The pillar of fire and Red Sea were ro rescue the Isrelites from the Egyptians. The 10 plagues were to show Pharoh that God is the only GOD>
They had been in slavery to the Egyptians for hundreds of years and were leaning to follow the Egyptian gods. Even with all they were shown, they still had it is for Moses. The movie "Ten Commandments" isn't exactly accurate, but they weren't big on believeing what was staring them in the face.
Move forward to Jesus' time....He turned water into wine, fed 5,000 men with 2 fishes an d5 loaves of bread, raised Jairus's daughter from the dead, raised the widow's son from the dead, raised Lazarus from the dead. And because he raised Lazarus, the leaders of the temple were ready to rekill Lazarus and plotted and succeeded in crucifying Christ. Dont' forget, the night Jesus was betrayed, Peter cut off a servant's ear with his sword and Jesus reatached it, yet they STILL arrested HIm for blasphemy clainng He was the Son of God.
As for why He doesn't do these things today. He doesn't need to,somewhere it states in the Bible that we have had the prophets to teach us and many people didn't listen, we have the entire Bible, that should be enough.
Look at teh parable in Luke 16. A poor man had died and went to heaven and a rich man was burning in hell. He wanted Abraham to send the poor man down with a drink of water. That wasn't gonna happen. So the rich man asked that the poor man be sent to his father's house and tell his 5 rich brothers to believe so they wouldn't "come to this place of torment" Abraham's reply..."They have Moses and the Prophets let them listen to them"
"No Father Abraham, if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent"
"Abraham said, "If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead."
Jesus rose from the dead, that should have been the last miracle ever needed, but people still don't believe.
.Matthew 12:38 "Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to Him "eacher we want to see a miraculous sign from you" He answered, " A wicked and aldulterous generation asks fot a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.
If we were to see a sea part or a pillar of fire, non believers would come up with a "logical explainantion" anyway.
So, we have had plenty of miracles, now we need only to believe.
John 21:29 "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed!"

In previous testomony situations, God became into very plenty distant from human beings; jointly as many knew of Him, there became into no longer the interior maximum relationship that Christians immediately talk of. God rather plenty in ordinary terms spoke to the prophets, and with the intention to be accepted, had to show thins like the pillar of fireplace, the burning bush, etc. Christ achieved miracles so as that individuals might have confidence and to fulfill prophecies. while Christ ascended, the Holy Spirit got here. The Holy spirit, which dwells in Christians, is like our very own connection to God. because of the fact we've it, we no longer would desire to visit the temple to wish or have clergymen enter the Holy of Holies. The curtain became into torn in the wake of Christ's dying, and now that we've the spirit, we are in a position to have that non-public relationship with God. He would not would desire to accomplish miracles like the parting of the crimson Sea to make himself accepted anymore.

I wouldnt agree with the statement that God usually doesnt have a presence among us because of freewill. God doesnt have a presence among us in a physical manifestation because the evil from this earth produces a spritual stench. Would you want to live in a sewage treatment plant?

God has done miracles as signs that he is with his people and as well has done them as signs AGAINST people. So if you see a miracle, you are seeing it as a sign that you are damned, or that you are saved.

God does do miracles today but in a limited fashion do to the spiritual nature of the new covenant. With the old covenant, Israel could count on God to do miracles and physically deliver them fom evil. Jesus is all about delivering you from spiritual evil, not physically. Many believers do witness miracles but they are just signs of Gods approval and his work in the new covenant.

Ive never seen a miracle or a UFO, and if I was forced into believing in one I think it
would be the UFO.

In these days and times we are directed to
gods word only by written material from the past, I guess miracles and plagues etc...
had to happen so we would have some
doctrine to study or worship.

he did. you can go to www.messagedoctrine.com and see the photo of the pillar of fire above bro.branham's head. the same pillar of fire in moses day, that knocked paul off his horse and blinded him, and rested upon the Lord Jesus. this photo was taken at the houston coliseum in 1950 during a debate between a baptist minister, dr. best, refuting the minister, F.F. Bosworth that God doesn't heal people anymore. this photo was authenticated by, george c. lacey, the examiner of questioned documents for the FBI as the 1st supernatural being ever photographed and sits in washington in the national archives.

you can also see a photo of seven angels forming the head of christ, the perfect capstone for the church. this photo was taken in 1963 over arizona and was published in the may 17th edition of "LIFE" magazine.
thessalonians states, to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels...etc. all seven of them. the seventh angel is the most notable and you can see him blowing a trumpet. God interprets His word by bringing it to pass. amen.

you may read bro.branham's sermons online at www.branahm.org or purchase all 1182 of them for only $15 at www.daysofthevoice.com. www.leevayle.net his series on godhead, rapture, presence, and paradox are very good too.

If God showed Himself today, people would still come up with a reason and not believe. They'll just give it some scientific name or theory and discredit Him like they've always done.

Those who know He's real, already know so. For those who have doubt, He left the Bible as proof.

Either you choose to humble yourself, repent, and believe the Bible, or you choose to believe the theories and the science. God would rather you repent and believe because He loves you and wants to fellowship with you. Hope this answers your question.

Peace & Blessings.

The most righteous of any man that has ever lived is still too soiled and filthy to survive seeing God with their own eyes.
We are too sinful and God cannot be in our presence. When He was He was nailed to a cross.
It is difficult for people to see what God does when so many are deceiving and many more being deceived.

Why doesn't He do stuff like that today?
The answer is:
". . .for we are walking by faith, not by sight."
2 Corinthians 5:7
Don't misunderstand the word 'faith'.
The above thought simply means we have moved up to the next level.
Instead of being slapped in the face with irrefutable acts, God is inviting us to use our reasoning powers.
He created them, He knows what we're capable of.
He wants us to think!
