I have always been in good cardiovascular shape, but I took up weight training in January. I train 3 days a week, usually 5 different exercises, and I do them to failure. I usually do assisted pull-ups, assisted dips, tricep pull-downs, chest press, glutes, etc. How much muscle weight can I reasonably have gained in 4.5 months? I am a small-framed woman, 24 years old. Thank you!

Uh, no need to call me an idiot. I check my body fat regularly, but I'm not sure of the accuracy as it's the leg to leg bioimpedance method. Considering that I was 18% yesterday and 16.5% today, there's clearly some variance and I don't know what to trust.

there is no way that can be accurately determined. everyone gains muscle mass at different rates. start tracking your body fat and you can track gains or losses in muscle mass.

* since your body fat analyzer is not reliable I would get some hand calipers to take body fat measurements. you can get some off the net for $20

Try taking whey protein powder or Infinity Proteabolic Mass Formula and you will gain muscle faster and more of it. Your body needs proteins and amino acids to build muscles. The PBM formula has both.
Be sure you alternate days of exercises. Your body needs 48 hours to build muscle after you exercise. So, work the upper body one day, the lower body the next. You'll build muscle faster if you use the SuperSlow method. That is, you do the easy part of the exercise twice as slow as the hard part. That fatigues the muscles faster and makes them build more mass.
It's hard to say how much muscle you could build in the time you specified. Your bones need to develop along with the muscles and that will happen so some of the weight you will gain will be bone. If you are eating well and avoiding fats and junk you should put on up to 15 lbs. It depends on a lot of factors and almost impossible to predict. Good luck.
