There will be tribulation.

The Bible has a lot to say about the end times. Nearly every book of the Bible contains prophecy regarding the end times. Taking all of these prophecies and organizing them can be difficult. Here is a very brief summary of what the Bible declares will happen in the end times:

Christ will remove all born-again believers who are part of the Church (New Testament saints) from the earth by an event known as the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51ff). These believers will be rewarded for good works and service during their time on earth at the Judgment Seat of Christ or will lose rewards, but not eternal life, for lack of service and obedience (1 Corinthians 3:11-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10).

The antichrist (beast) will come into power and sign a peace pact (covenant) with Israel for seven years (Daniel 9:27). This seven year period of time is known as the Tribulation. During the Tribulation, there will be terrible wars, famines, plagues, and natural disasters. God will be pouring out His wrath against sin, evil, and wickedness. The Tribulation will contain the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and the seven seal, trumpet, and bowl judgments.

About halfway through the 7 years, the antichrist will break the peace covenant with Israel and make war against them. The antichrist will perform the abomination of desolation and set up an image of himself to be worshipped in the temple (Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:3-10). The second half of the Tribulation is known as the Great Tribulation and the time of Jacob’s trouble.

At the end of the seven year Tribulation, the antichrist will launch a final attack on Jerusalem, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus Christ will return, destroy the antichrist and his armies and cast them into the lake of fire (Revelation 19:11-21). Christ will then bind Satan in the Abyss for 1000 years and will rule His earthly kingdom for this 1000 years (Revelation 20:1-6).

At the end of the 1000 years, Satan is will be released, defeated again, and then cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:7-10). Christ then judges all unbelievers (Revelation 20:10-15) at the Great White Throne Judgment, casting them all into the lake of fire. Christ will then usher in a New Heaven and New Earth and the New Jerusalem - the eternal dwelling place of believers. There will be no more sin, sorrow, or death (Revelation chapters 21-22).

If you want the full story you have to read the Biblical book of Revelation (sometimes called the Apocalypse of John or Revelation to John). And please note it is singular not Revelations, plural.

There are a couple of problems with just sitting down and reading it though. First it is the only the only biblical book that is wholly composed of apocalyptic literature style, widely known to those in biblical times and almost totally unknown to readers today. Many books of the Old Testament contain sections of apocalyptic style, mostly the books of the Prophets. (See Source below for a discussion of apocalyptic literature).

The second problem is that for complete understanding one must have a fair knowledge of the entire Bible.

If you have neither of the above then read it with a good Bible Commentary (Barnes, Scofield, Hendry, JFB etc)

SIGNS

Christ gave some events to recognize the end times.

In Matt.24:3-8, Mark 13:5-8, Luke 21:8-11.

Many shall come in my name (authority) saying I am Christ (Christian) and shall deceive many.

The best example of this is the so-called Rapture. This is a LIE which can easily be disproved by God’s Word. Christ returns at the seventh trump.

Wars and rumors of war.

Nation shall rise (rouse from obscurity) against (along side) nation kingdom against (along side) kingdom.

The words “shall rise” (eg-i'-ro) in Greek means “rouse from obscurity”.

This word “against” (epi) in Greek means “along side” not in opposition to.

Since 1990 (30) new countries have emerged. We now have the global market place or the global community.

Famines.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

This famine of hearing the words of the LORD is very apparent on TV. Maybe a verse or two then mans’ words for 20 minutes.

Pestilences.

Aids, mad cow disease, bird flu and etc.

Earthquakes in diverse places.

This word “earthquakes” (seismos) in Greek means both “earthquake and tempest”.

Look at the hurricanes we have been having.

All these are the beginning of sorrows (birth pangs).

This word “sorrows” (odin) in Greek means “birth pangs of childbirth”.

The birth pangs of a new dispensation, and the contractions are getting closer together. The water may have broke during the tsunami of 2004.

16 The “last days” of this present age and the conditions identifying them are specifically mentioned in the Bible at 2 Timothy 3:1-5. As we read this text, please note the lawlessness and family breakdown. “Know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.” The “last days” are thus marked, among other cruelties, by the loss of natural, or family, affection and by children being disobedient to parents. When the family, as the basic unit of society, breaks down, there is an unwholesome effect on the community. Disrespect for authority develops, and lawlessness increases. Divine laws are ignored, and entire families yield to lawlessness

There will be an increase in earthquakes, fires, violence, evil, abuse, angry and vain people, and the family structure will come apart.

Some people say the Bible has a code in it that tells us when the end time exactly is.

The Bible indicates that Jesus is coming back and raises the dead and living believers to heaven.

Matthew 24:3 While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?”4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many. 6 YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 “For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. 9 “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation and will kill YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred by all the nations on account of my name. 10 Then, also, many will be stumbled and will betray one another and will hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and mislead many; 12 and because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off. 13 But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. 14 And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. 6 For from these arise those men who slyly work their way into households and lead as their captives weak women loaded down with sins, led by various desires, 7 always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth.

A lot. Personally I think we're smack in the middle of them. There's a good book I'd recommend, it's called "What the World is Coming To". Outlines all you need to know, it's a commentary on the book of Revelation.
