Of course they have doubts, they are riddled with them. It takes constant reinforcement from the group for them to maintain such ridiculous beliefs.
When they get angry at legitimate challenges to their faith, I am reminded of "methinks though doth protest too much"

So you like to be criticized? You like to have folks call you an ignorant and stupid person for the way you live and think? You have a tough hide if you can stand up to that day in and day out. As far as doubts go, I am sure that at some point all Christians have had doubts but they found the answers to those doubts and it has made their faith stronger. That is the work of the Holy Spirit, it leads us into all truth about God. However, this is a life long lesson. God is not afraid of our doubts because He does exist.

No one likes to be insulted. Most Christians are stereotyped terribly. Just because a few people have behaved badly the whole group is being labeled. I know myself that I am generous and share my money and time with many worthy causes. Whenever a local charity needs help I am the first one there. I always try to volunteer and am willing to give up my free time to help others. I feel my purpose here is to benefit others and show love and mercy. I hope you can meet Christians like myself. We certainly don't have doubts about what we believe or how we can live it.

I do not get touchy. I have tried to be humorous and was told I was bashing people.
If others do maybe it is because the playing field of belief sharing is not fair.
If we criticize or have a rebuttal on your belief system then we are bashing the bible at you.
When you criticize us, we are to take it quietly or be called hypocritical and judgmental.
I would like to respect your opinion and work with your facts and the facts that God is and has done in my life. My foundation in the Lord is strong and not easily rattled. I think we should be able to agree their is hypocrites among both of our (all) beliefs.

I think the majority of us aren't touchy about criticism, legitimate questions, or intelligent discussion. We *do* get very sick and tired of people who bash our beliefs, blaspheme our Savior, and generally act like the north end of a southbound horse. If you were constantly ridiculed and told that you were "ignorant, uneducated, retarded" or any of the other insults that some folks like to hurl at us, you might be a little testy at times, too.
It's not an issue of having doubts. . .it's a matter of being tired of some people's abysmal manners.

Critism is a good thing if it is based on actual fact(s). I have no doubts whatsoever about Jesus.
Make you a deal. Do the research on any topic or verse in the Bible and then ask a question. Come prepared and be "man enough" to admit you are wrong if you are.
If you will do that, so will I.
One quick question for you. Are you afraid to accept critism?

Some are frustrated because they can't understand other people's viewpoints. Once one has identified an infallible source of "truth", it is hard to regard detractors as anything but enemies. As one critic put it, the need for certainty wars against faith. Certainty seeks to possess the truth rather than to encounter it. And that certainty tends to be all-or-nothing. Doubt challenges faith but destroys certainty. Those who have opted for certainty are bound to be testy.

Not at all. Some just don't know how to express themselves. People in general are touchy about criticism. Don't try to make it a Christian thing.

I think some people have built up an automatic response to criticism. That response being hate and venom. I don't think it's right for anyone to attack another and I think that sometimes people just get fed up with others critiquing their belief system.

Perhaps they do. I am a Christian who is confident and firm in my beliefs, however I can't speak for every other person who labels them self as Christian. Why is it that some people expect Christians to be infallible? Yes we have God's spirit living in us - but we still live in an imperfect human body - a body every human being can relate to. The only hope humans have is to be reconciled with their creator - and at the time of His return those who have received His grace will be made perfect with incorruptible bodies.
