White zinfandel?

does this type of wine have a diff alcohol content then red wine?

I believe it has less alcohol content than red wine.

yes, it is usually lower. white zinfandel, technically a blush wine and not a red, usually has alcohol 12% or lower. Reds are usually 12% or higher. I have seen white zin as low as 9.5%.

i really don't even consider the white zin and the red in the same category. I personally find White Zin to be disgustingly sweet like koolaide. it goes with zero food. and is just weird.

In the US, anything labeled as "table wine" must have an alcohol level of no more than 14%. White wine is usually slightly lower in alcohol than red, but the gov't allows 1.5% leeway in accuracy.

Anyway, the alcohol content is printed on the bottle.

White zin is just zin with the skins removed during the fermentation process in order to make it not red and decrease its character and taste. The sugar's in the meat of the grape, not the skin. Had the bottom not fallen out of the zin market all those years ago, we'd not have to put up with this abomination.

All white zin isn't bad. It has about 11% compared to reds at 13 or 14%. Even Wine Spectator says that there are good white zins out there. Just not Beringer.

white Zin is just some cheap white wine that the winmaker tossed in some cheap *** red wine to give it a pink tint...the alcohol content is the same...real zinfandel is dark dark red, smells really good and is my favorite...

if anything less, it's a cheapy. Better off drinking a nice red wine.
