This so-called "question" is obviously untrue. Jehovah's Witnesses cheerfully and readily answer ANY question a householder may have about ANYTHING printed in "The Watchtower" or other literature. Jehovah's Witnesses use any bible a householder prefers.

The bible is the Word of God; Jehovah Himself is the Divine Author of the Holy Scriptures.

(2 Timothy 3:16) All Scripture is inspired of God

(2 Peter 1:20-21) No prophecy of Scripture springs from any private interpretation. For prophecy was at no time brought by man’s will, but men spoke from God as they were borne along by holy spirit.

(Acts 28:25) The holy spirit aptly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to YOUR forefathers

(Acts 1:16) For the scripture to be fulfilled, which the holy spirit spoke beforehand by David’s mouth

(Mark 12:35-36) Jesus began to say as he taught in the temple: “...By the holy spirit David himself said [a particular Scripture]

(2 Samuel 23:1,2) And these are the last words of David: “...The spirit of Jehovah it was that spoke by me, And his word was upon my tongue.

(Zechariah 7:12) The law and the words that Jehovah of armies sent by his spirit, by means of the former prophets

(Luke 1:68-70) Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, because he has turned his attention and performed deliverance toward his people... just as he, through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, has spoken

But this so-called "question" seems less concerned with magnifying the Divine Author and more concerned with demeaning Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses have distributed more than 145 million copies of "New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures", in dozens of languages.
http://watchtower.org/languages.htm

The entire text of NWT is freely available at the official website of Jehovah's Witnesses, and a personal printed copy can be requested at no charge:
http://watchtower.org/bible/
https://watch002.securesites.net/contact/submit.htm
http://watchtower.org/how_to_contact_us.htm

Jehovah's Witnesses certainly like NWT, but they are happy to use any translation which an interested person may prefer, and in fact Jehovah's Witnesses themselves distribute other translations besides NWT. Jehovah's Witnesses attach no particular infallibility or inspiration to NWT.

The "New World Translation Committee" which oversaw the translation work request anonymity 'en perpetuity', and are likely all dead since the primary work was completed 45 years ago. Guesses at specific names have always been merely guesses. Since the same manuscripts used by the NWT translators are still widely available for study, and since there are dozens of alternate translations for comparison, anyone who chooses to use NWT does so informedly.

It seems that the vast majority of the criticism against the New World Translation is actually as a proxy for blind hatred against Jehovah's Witnesses. The hatred must be "blind" since secular experts of biblical Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shaky tenets of their false worship.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems significant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

This is a well query, I have not a clue which it's and I'd like to look a immediately sure or no reply. I get the identical combined messages because the asker every time I listen approximately it. Everyone above turns out to very nearly say 'we will be able to however I do not' after which offers you their reasoning. All I quite must cross off is that you do not see many JWs who learn elements of view that distinction with their possess (aka apostate literature), so I get the affect it maybe discouraged although it isn't in opposition to their regulations (proper me if I'm flawed and there's certainly no legitimate JW stance on watching into opposing perspectives).

You must really fear the witnesses are right. Is it because of the latest killings today is further proof that we are in the last days? Besides, why would you want to use a Bible that did follow the KJV that was:

Created because some English King thought the Genesis Bible was too strict;

Was revised four times over a 150 year time period until it sufficiently matched the teachings of the Church of England, a Bishop of which last November said children born with birth defects shouldn't be allowed to live;

Has been revised many times since to keep up with current beliefs;

Now has completely removed what they apparently consider the blemish of God's Name in it;

And has been repeatedly shown by many non-witness scholars to have 1000s of errors in it.

You may not like the NWT, but it has repeated been shown by non-witnesses to be correct. Of course if you believe what the Bishop says, and he gets his knowledge from the KJV, than perhaps its okay for you.

As to your question, do you think that the same men who were on the governing Board over 100 years ago are still there today. It is not even the same men from a few years ago. The Watchtower developed as a result of asking questions, and not letting a bunch of paid elitists have control over everything. There are no power positions in the Watchtower, because you have to hold the postion for some period of time to have the power, and no one does.

My Wife and I are Jehovah's Witnesses and we got baptized in Aug. 1996. We searched long and hard to find the truth and we found it. We considered the early history of Jehovah's Witnesses and they made the changes and teach the truth from God's Word the Bible. The religions today do not teach the true identify of Jehovah God and his Son Jesus Christ. Look at all the pagan beliefs that are mixed in with the religions today. Jesus never celebrated his birthday or Christmas and there is no proof in the scriptures to show that his true followers observed these man made traditions as well. The false trinity teaching, hell fire, and so on had dishonored God's Word today. Jehovah's Witnesses teach the truth and believe the truth. And we preach the truth all over the world today.

You are not being that bright. Of course we question what is in the literature. That is how we learn. Look it up for ourselves so we can make a defense for our faith.

Do you speak Hebrew, Greek or Aramaic? Do you carry 66 individual books in those languages around with you? Then you can't be Christian because you are not using the REAL Bible!

Stop being a baby! Are you still getting milk out of a bottle with a nipple on it? How many times have you stuck your fingers in an electrical outlet recently? Oh Yeah! You "claim" you have not recently. Do you mean to tell me you learned better and moved on? That can't happen can it?

Being a JW doesn't mean we know less. It means we know more. It requires work for all JWs are ministers not just some clergyman getting up before the laity who have not opened a Bible in a long time.

They say that? Geez, I've been one for awhile now and I've never heard any of my brothers or sisters say that. In fact, the only ones I hear say that are people trying to find fault with us. Those people say that we say that but I've never seen or heard proof of that. It's kind of funny- I always see people bashing our organization and mistakes or perceived mistakes we've made, our preferred bible translation, and our way of trying to teach others about the bible. However, when it comes to an attack on the scriptural accurateness of our "doctrine", no one can get anywhere, so it always ends up as an attack on the organization, which, like every other organization or religion, is made up of fallible men. For some reason, though, many like to point out our mistakes and not those of other religions. If these people will take a good look at the bible and the meanings of the Greek and Hebrew words it was translated from, we'd have less people disagreeing with us. But then again, I've experienced many who acknowledge the evidence but respond by saying, "Well, this is what I've always believed, so..." People must change to suit the bible, not the bible change to suit us!

The purpose of prayer is to communicate with God, surely communicate includes asking questions. Matt 21:22 reads, if you "BELIEVE", you will receive whatever you ask, this does not mean, just tangible things, this includes "Knowledge" It is actually your responsibility to question what you don't understand for God is not the author of confusion. Man however, is. Which is probably why your prohibited to question.

ps: remember when mom & dad didn't have an anwser for you they would reply" because I said so.... or just because, same thing

No, not at all.

We say that the Bible is the ultimate authority.

Men are imperfect and can make mistakes, but the message and information in the Bible can never be faulted.

It is interpretation that can fall short. But "the light gets brighter and brighter" as time progresses.

Anyone who claims that Witnesses preach the infaliability of the Watchtower are NOT true Witnesses and are just stirring up contentions and untruths.

*Why ask a question if you are not looking for true answers?* There are plenty of blogs out there for you to post on, instead of cluttering Y!A with your opinions scantily disguised as "questions."

WOW. Didn't feel up to asking a question today?:D

Please show me so a Witness that says that. How else can we learn unless we question things??? One of the things many on here like to complain about is the fact that we have altered our beliefs. The reason being that as time has gone by we have learned more. How??? By questioning our beliefs.

so many religions rather than trying to understand what is the belif of that particular religion? Jehovah's Witness dont take part in the arguing or even debating of bible issues....WE simply state what we believe to be bible truths. Either you will accept it or you wont. That is our mission. To go forth and make desciples in the name of the father the son and the holy spirit. Not arguing. Sadly, no one ever wants to hear truth in ANYTHING, not just bible. People are so not wanting to hear what a witness has to say in my opinion because it sits in the wrong place with em.....People dont want to be held accountable for their actions and they dont want to live by bible standards..They want to keep on defiling the flesh, fornicating, using horriable language, being homosexual and things of that nature and then sit in church on sunday morning and think that they are holy.......NAh, not with us. You have to be as pure as tyou can. However, romans talks about us all falling short of the glory of god EVERY day but it does not say that we do intentionally.......Boy, I know i am gona get a lot of rude comments from this one so go ahead and do it......Doesnt matter. I just say what is in my heart to say....sorry i was so long...one more thing...Gods work is not burdensome.....the scriptures say that and anything that you want to do......Jehovah allows it, as long as it is good for you.....Jw drink....they dont become drunk....They have parties....they dont go crazy and have the police on them.....ok.....i am done defending my choice of religion....so how is everyone? LOL
