Can anyone tell me the significance in the number 12 in religion and spirituality? I am perplexed by this number and what it is supposed to mean..

I am asking because I seem to always get that number when i think of things spiritualy and always am awakened at 4:44 am..there is also a birthmark right above my heart which resembles the number 12 and my son was born in December the 12th month..coincidence??

The number twelve represents something that is divinely appointed by God. There were 12 apostles, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 hours in a day and a night. 12 months. Like yesterday I heard a man say He was born in the twelfth month at 12:12 am. 12 represents things which were ordained before the created of the world.

12 is significant because that is the number of disciples that Jesus had. it is also a multiple of the number 3 which is refrenced multiple times in the Bible, including the 3 days that Jesus was in the tomb before rising again, the number of wise men that came to visit, the number of times Peter denied Jesus in the crowd, and Jesus himself was on eart for 33 years, yet another multiple of 3!
