are taught to think. Why do they not think logically about the bible? Why does the way you think have to change when you discuss the bible. Im fairly sure that if somebody told you that your car just jumped over your house you would use logic and know they are joking. Why not use logic when it comes to the bible.

I don't believe logic is part of the christian vocabulary...

Logic would have us listening to our parents as children so that as we grew up we would have a pretty good idea of the world in which we live. Right? They are much older and have more experience in life than we as young children.

Scripture tells us that in many different places, both O.T. and N.T. In fact it is one of the Ten Commandments.

Logic dictates that people will treat us the way we treat them. If we are nice and polite, people will generally be that way with us. If we are mean and hateful, we most likely will be regarded in the same manner.

Again, the Bible discusses this very topic in numerous places.

I could go on and on but there is no reason. I logically think you understand where this is going.
Logic, by your own admition, is not 100% accurate. Dr. Spock from Star Trek even came to that conclusion. You said you were "fairly sure" we would use logic. So you are not certain yourself.
Of this I AM certain. If you trust in the Lord with all your heart and try not to reason or use logic, great things will come to you.
Why not use faith instead of logic when it comes to the Bible?

I will be the first to admit that there are some problems with specific areas of the Bible, either through poor translation or just plain careless transcription by human beings. There are also many passages that I may not understand, but I don't discount their validity just because of my lack of comprehension.

And at the same time, I don't discount miracles or the power of God. I also acknowledge the wisdom that is contained in the Bible and its practical application for everyday life. The Sermon on the Mount is as good a pattern on how to live today as it was when Christ first preached it.

So even though I don't always understand the Bible or think that parts of it have come down to us correctly, I'm not willing to disregard the wisdom and moral teachings that it contains. Discounting a Shakespearean play or sonnet just because you don't understand all of it would make no sense, and the same is true of the Bible.

That's funny, my car jumping over a house. Heck, my car can barely make it over a bump in the road. Its so darn low in the front. Next car is a Mini Van or some such higher vehicle. Anyway, the bible, we are going into the mysterious area of God and faith. If one believes that God exists than it is really quite simple to accept what He is capable of doing. You have a logical mind, I can tell. But God is about faith and trust, those are things that one accepts without the science. Because it comes from an understanding from the Spirit of God to the very heart of man. I am probably as clear as mud, but faith is accepting what one can not see.

LOGIC- I was not two pieces of particle smashed together by chance
logic- the sun and moon are just to perfect to just "happen"

logic- there is MORE to life then to live get happy and die!!
logic-you are too smart to just be here to be here

logic if there was a God that made such an awesome place then we would NEVER be able to be in his perfect presences with all our mistakes

UNLESS we have someone to take them all away (aka Jesus)

Case for Christ talks about all the scientific stuff from a Atheist who wants to prove the Bible wrong! If you want to really know why people trust the Bible with their life, you could read it too!!! Its really awesome to not just take someones word on it : )

The Bible is completely logical once you have faith and confidence in an Almighty God who is higher than yourself.

The problem with Atheists and those who try to discredit the all time best selling book is that they hold themselves to be the ultimate authority, not God.

That is what is illogical.

The bible is the Word of God and is a guide to how we should live our lives, that aside. I do not leave my home and leave God there, God goes everywhere with me in every aspect of my life. If one truly is a child of God we do not just dust Him off once a week or when ever we may need Him. I need God every single minute of every single day, just like I need blood pumping thru my veins and air in my lungs, God is the very heart and soul of me.

What part do you want to discuss logically? Much of the bible is parables and symbols that are not to be taken literally....if you want to be more specific, I think I can discuss logics with you.

It's been postulated that religious people do what's called "partitioning of the mind"

One part runs their everyday lives where they are capable of being perfectly logical individuals. The other part contains their religious beliefs. This part can be as illogical and irrational as it likes. It's this partitioning that allows religious people to continue to function as normal individuals. While still maintaining beliefs that are clearly outrageous to maintain.

the Bible has been proven true, even by people who set out to prove it wrong. why should we lower ourselves to think like the rest of the world? God says to not put our faith in philosophy and "reason" but in Him.

Read the first half of John 3. If you can not figure it out from there-then you will never figure it out.
