"Flatbed" scanners can scan a whole sheet of paper or photos. Best all purpose scanner - these are sometimes built into "all-in-one" printers. I would really recommend the small "USB Powered" Canon scanners - I have one and I love it. It doesn't even need to be pugged into an outlet, the USB cable from the computer powers it.
"Negative" scanners - you feed in negatives and it will scan them and make separate image files for each picture. These only work for negatives.
"Handheld" scanners - you pass it over a document to be scanned, easy but usually low quality really meant for text and not for photos.

There is only scanner in the market but he features deffer from scanner to scanner. some scanner scan Black and white and clour pages very fast depends on the resolution and other scanner scan filem scanners and flat bed scanner and phot copy scanner the features are different.
some scanners scan only films rolls and some scaneer scan only A4 pages only and .

there are tones of them. scanners with printer and fax or just plain scanners. what kind u looking for?
