According to those who believe in 'evolutionism', hominids began to developed progressively larger brains after they began hunting, consuming greater quantities of fresh meat, and acquiring the necessary protein to expand their minds. Those who have decided to abandon the accomplishments of their forefathers and refrain from hunting have lost access to quality protein and have begun devolving.
Seriously though, many of the people who oppose hunting have lost touch with the natural cycle of life and no longer think of the meat they purchase at a supermarket as coming from an animal. Also, many of these people have grown up watching 'Bambi' and other fictional programs that vilify hunters and allow for them to old this hypocritical view.
As Sean Hannity said;
"If it wasn't for double standards, Liberals wouldn't have any standards at all.”

I think that a lot of it is contributed to some people feeling guilty about killing a live animal just so that they can eat it. In other words, people think that as long as they don't see the killing it is fine. Some people think the same about hunting. I guess that people think that all meat a raised on farms/factories, when in reality some of the finest restaurants (at least in my area) either buy the meat from the hunter or buy the animal and do the killing themselves or have another company do it for them. As for me, I love to hunt, you get over that gutting an animal feeling a long time ago if you hunt a lot. Its a dog eat dog world out there.

If more people actually had to kill what they ate, there would be a LOT less people on the planet, the word Vegetarian is an ancient native word for bad hunter! Seriously, hypocrites come in all forms, meat eaters who see nothing wrong with slaughterhouse's doing their killing for them, but will cry foul when a hunter goes into the woods to humanely kill a deer for his family.Ever seen a slaughterhouse in operation? I have, when I was a teenager working on my uncles farm we used to deliver hogs to Smithfield for slaughter, a hunter is by far more humane in his killing than a slaughterhouse is. Most meat eaters only see their meat in neatly packaged parcels at the grocery store or butcher shop, they never see the way the cow, hog or chicken is killed and dressed before they buy a portion of it. Most meat eaters do however own a TV and may watch a nature show from time to time, oh look how pretty that deer is, how could anyone shoot such a creature, failing to realise that that same beautiful deer, in an overpopulated area, WILL jump out onto a busy highway and cause accidents, and deaths.A Humane kill and effective culling of game populations saves lives and prevents suffering of animals from starvation, disease, broken legs from being struck by cars etc etc. Hypocrites come in all shapes and sizes, anti hunters being just one of many.

That is a really good question. I eat meat because I don't like vegetables enough to be a vegetarian. If I had to kill the animal, I would starve. I hate hunting, but I don't hate hunters. I think animals that are hunted at least have a fighting chance. I try not to verbalize my dislike for killing animals because that would make me feel like a hypocrite and I guess I am.

Alot of people will eat the meat but they just don't want to be there when it's harvested or to see it after you shoot it. My exwife would cook it and eat it as long as she didnt have to see it laying there after you shot it. What I don't like are the people that go hunting and don't care to eat it. If your not going to eat it then don't shoot it I hate people that just shoot things for the sport of killing something. I've been hunting almost 40 yrs and if I'm not gonna eat it I don't shoot it. I'd like to know how the people that think those animals are so cute like on tv shows where there's Elenor the cow or Arnold Ziffel can still eat beef and pork.

I think it can be attributed to the fact that it doesn't bother people when they are disconnected from the act of killing the animal, but if they see a guy in a field actively trying to shoot a deer (or other animal) they are disgusted because of their own prejudices.
It can also stem from people that fear guns on a moral basis and automatically make the connection between hunting and violence.

I see that hunting is more humane than the way they slaughter cows. Farmers dont just go out and shoot it in the head unless they are using it for themselves. They ship it to where the meat company is, after the meat company pays fo rit, and they then put it into a pen and feed the cow until its market slaughter weight. then they put in a little pen that makes them walk forward to a guy with an electric gun, and he zaps them quite a bit of voltage in the head. It doens tkill them, just makes them unaware of what is happening and makes them pass out for a minute. They then hang them from their backm legs on a conveir thing and it goes into a room(they are still alive) where a guy sticks a knife in their stomach and runs it to their groin, and they bleed to death. Then they deskin them on a stripper maching, and they cut the head off, and cut the meat up, package and ship it, and they are done. And people think shooting a deer is inhumane!

In our urbanized society people are very separated from their sources of food. The basically don't like to think about where their food comes from and because of supermarkets they don't have to. Cities, while necessary, are an artificial environment and they can breed a class of humans totally depended on that artificial environment. People are conditioned to have things prepared for them and can not comprehend having to do many things for themselves. Most of there jobs are highly specialized. They live in their track house or apartment and fuddle information in a "cube farm" all day at the office. In fact the self sufficient individual bothers them by showing that the are by comparison so depended on what is artificial. Hence for many people, hunting where you find the animal, kill it and dress it out is just totally incomprehensible to them

I feel 3 reasons are present.
1= Some are just hypocrites.
2= Some are lonely and wont to be apart of something and don’t care if it’s right or wrong.
3= Then you have the blatant antagonist who just wants attention, it not that they believe in anything rights to survive it’s the wont and demand attention good, bad or indifferent it does not matter all that maters is that some one pays them some form of attention even if it’s anger.
Now I can respect the truly foolish but sincere animal rights people that do not eat meat or purchase any thing that is a by product of animals leather, fur, meat, milk or so on.
The sincere animal rights people is the one who invest their hard earned money to support what they believe in.
That believe what their doing is for the best for the animals.
But that not what we deal with here, what we have seen is the blatant antagonist who just wants attention and would not spend a dime to save a herd of deer starving in their back yard.
But would complain to the Wildlife Department that their deer were destroying the antagonist ornamental shrubbery, and you can bet your @ss on that.
I see that a lot a Nuisance Wildlife Controller for my state, but that cool too you should see the bill I hit them with when they show that side of them selves.
One example was a man who claimed that HUNTER were the cause of him having a family of 4 or 5 skunks living under his house and wonted to know when I could remove them.
I told him just as soon as I was paid and the check cleared the bank I would get to work.
He inquired on how much, I quoted him $75.00 per skunk and $125.00 set up fee.
He threaten to report me to the Department of Wildlife, of which He did.
All the while I called all the Nuisance Wildlife Controller in the area and got them up to speed to the situation, I was later (with in 24 Hours) informed by the Department of Wildlife that I was in fact the cheapest price quoted to this nut case, the Department of Wildlife official that took the complaint told the home owner that Nuisance Wildlife Controller are Independent Contractors and they set their own fees and informed the home owner he had 2 choices pay our fees or Name the 4 or 5 skunks and count them as Pets.
Last I heard he still had the Skunks.
My normal fees are seldom over $75.00 for the complete job, and single mothers and retired people I usually do my job for free and then have to argue with them for not taking their money.
