It doesnt. They both exist because of fear of consequences for what ever actions people deem to be 'sinful' or 'unlucky' or whatever.

I think that faith shows up in superstition. You have faith in something that is based upon something that could be construed as untrue. Like someone saying that the streetlights always comes on when I go out at night. Always?
I could try to avoid streetlights because I think that they are watching me! That would be superstitious in my opinion.
But people have faith in mundane things too. Have you ever had a set of car keys that never failed, and showed no weakness, and then for no apparent reason, question their ability to open up and start the car?
Not a typical thing. But there is faith in those car keys as long as they work, people never question their ability to perform their promised function.

Faith is believing in what you can't see. Superstition is A superstition is the irrational belief that future events are influenced by specific behaviors, without having a causal relationship.

Superstition is based on the ignorant faith of an object having magical powers. Another word for superstition is idolatry. The Bible does not support the idea of things occurring by chance, but nothing is done outside of what God works through His plan (Acts 4:28, Ephesians 1:10). Scripture condemns those who practice astrology (Deuteronomy 4:19), magic, divination and sorcery (2 Kings 21:6, Isaiah 2:6). Idolatry is also forbidden, and no one who practices it will enter the Kingdom of God (Revelation 21:27). We should get our faith not from objects or rituals that are mere folklore, but from the one true God who gives eternal life. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:8-10).

Superstition promotes fear and faith promotes peace. I know I know what about the war in Iraq and the Inquisition and the Crusades? Well we are there out of fear. Fear they are coming after us fear there won't be enough gas if we don't ect... The inquisition was more about greed and power of the organized religious leaders of that time and because the average Joe of the time was afraid to speak out against the church for obvious reasons.
What I mean is Faith is not what you perceive it to be and a lot of faithless people claim there faith makes them hate but they really have fear.
You yourself have certain amounts of faith. Not maybe in a deity but I'll bet you have faith that you breath while you sleep even though you prob. have not filmed yourself sleeping even after walking under a ladder and black cats galore.

Certainly so!!!
Faith requires belief in the unseen manifest within those things that come to fruition.......
superstition requires sight so that those things would result in avoidance of that which might happen... A pre-conceived idea about what may come by means of passed on myths....

Superstition is longer, has more syllables and starts with an s. Other than that, they're basically the same.

Superstition = your thoughts and actions will cause something mystical to happen as the result of your effort.
Faith = God has already done it it just needs to be manifested.

Faith has as element of trust, hope, and recognition of a personal higher power.
Superstition has no such trust or hope, only the belief in a set of rules that will bring you this form of good karma and has nothing to do with a personal God.
