seriously. people should have to take a mental health test before being able to get a license and purchase a gun. it seriously takes less time to get a gun than it does to get your driving permit. what is this? what has our country come of itself? people who have absolutely no morals or INTELLIGENCE for that matter should not own a gun.

Sure! Take all the guns from the law abiding citizens and watch how easy it will be for the criminals to walk into your home with NO FEAR of being shot because he will possess the only gun in the area! The illegal gun market will always be there. Don't think for a minute that a piece of paper will stop criminals from possessing fire arms. It's not ROCKET SCIENCE. Comparing the US to the UK is ludicrous. Notice the size of the US compared to the size of the UK. The responder comparing these 2 countries needs a math lesson. Look at how many murders per hundred people he is talking about. That actually was quite a few murders in the UK for such a tiny country. It's more like SUICIDE when the towel heads watch us disarm ourselves and then make the job a cake walk to come in and take off your heads. Look at the big picture people. Our country was born through the use of our guns and we need to keep and bear arms to preserve the right to exist as a free society. Get proper training to handle the firearm and keep it in a safe place away from children. A lock box bolted to the floor with a push button combination lock under the edge of your bed is the best solution. when you hear a noise at night you can punch a couple keys, arm yourself and defend your family. Keep a big flashlight beside the box also. Blinding your intruder with the beam will give you an edge. He won't be able to see that you are armed and he will be caught with his pants down. If everyone was armed like this there would be no more home intruders.

Guns are designed for killing. Be it animal or Human, that is their purpose. If people did not have a Gun, a quick convient killing machine, it would be more difficult for someone to do something like this.
Admitedly this person was probably nuts and if he wanted a gun he could probably get one. But this gun culture must be stopped. Take ALL the guns off EVERYONE. It's that simple. Start with known nuts and physco's then move on to the so called "sane" gun carriers out there and finaly reduce the amount of Guns the Cops carry. But will that happen? No. Why? Because there is big money in guns and for some powerful people, this is their livelyhood. It aint going to happen. Something must be done in America, come on guys sort it out! Why does this keep happening???

No, it does not show that we have a problem with gun control. Certain wackos have a problem with temper control. They want to go all psycho and look up to the columbine shooters and such. The internet is an outlet for that, and those sick people feed off websites like Rotten.com, that should be taken off the internet. Because of things liek this, schitzo people kill others. Im not blaming any source but the individual. To soley cast the blame on Gun Control or the Internet takes away from personal responsibility, which is the difference between life and death in some cases.

I don't think anyone has an answer right now.
Guns have been a part of America since it's inception, and we still haven't fully figured it out.
It would be impossible to ban guns in the U.S., as most would just refuse. However, it's also not feasible to let every single gun that's manufactured, to be legal either.
I don't really have any answers, just a lot of questions.

Yes, gun control is a problem. If the average student carried a gun, the death toll would have been less then 6. Classes in proper use of guns in grade school and automatic concealed carry authorization issued with a drivers license would prevent this type of tragedy.

HELL NO! The Blacksburg/VT massacre, the Amish School massacre, the drain cleaner acid put on a kid's slide burning a 2 y/o a couple days ago, a Husband throwing gasoline on his wife and son and setting them on fire, the woman cutting a near full term Fetus from a Mother-to-Be,..........and the LIST goes on,......and on,.........and on,............and on .....etc.
This is a sign that this country does not address Mental Health Care,......make it available, .......encourage those to seek help,.......or their families/friends to get them help and report them.
We have a "sick" society, and NO ONE Ever addresses or scrutinizes Mental health Care, and we will continue to see such ugly events UNTIL we all as a nation address Mental Health and get people help BEFORE they hurt or kill someone else.
The fact I get it and no one else does (or very few) is scary, and having candle-light vigils and memorials is a sad way to address this national crisis!

Any person with a functioning brain knows America has serious problems with gun control there is no answer when 85% of the population, the Republicans and Democrats want assault weapons banned and they still have them because of a mindless minority who hold the real power.

Yes, there is a gun control problem. If everyone on campus had guns, someone would have taken the shooter out much sooner. If guns were illegal, I'm sure this murderer would have abided by the laws and not had one, since he was clearly an upstanding citizen.

No the gun just fires bullets the nut behind the trigger fires and aims it. Look what happened in the UK after Hungerford the banning of all handguns. It as not worked there are more handguns on the streets now than ever before, but in the hands of unlicensed and untrained people.

No, we have a problem with otherwise law-abiding nuts going on shooting sprees. Criminals (especially violent ones) do not follow the law, so gun control would have no impact on them anyway. Another case of Libs wanting to throw out the baby with the bath water.
