as said by other guys up here, there is no limitation for wearing a wedding ring for men in most religions.
(i know muslims men would not wear gold, but a wedding ring is ok - as long as its not gold)
make sure you ask him before marrying him what else his religion makes him to do, before he surprises you later with more holiness.

For religious reasons? Such as? I've never heard of a religion that disallows wedding rings. I would definitely ask for a REAL explanation. Now, IF he has a legitimate religious reason, perhaps you could display your marital status in another way. Not suggesting you GET one...but some people get matching tattoos to symbolize marriage. There may be a compromise in here somewhere.
Is he suggesting NEITHER of you wear one? Because I'd have a really big problem with only YOU having to wear one, while he doesn't.

I don't believe there is any religion that says a man doesn't have to wear a ring. It's a "choice", but not a rule. You could be tough with him, if this is truly something you feel very strongly about, and say, "Well, I don't want to be married to a man who won't wear a ring and show how proud he is to be a married man with a wife who loves him.", and then let him make the decision. You and a ring....or No you. I think he'll choose the ring. Especially if he loves you enough to be considering marriage at all.

I never wanted to wear a ring either - but I have got to admit "religious reasons " thats good
How to work it out ? Find out a lot more on the why where when of this religion and maybe a comprimise can be worked out from that
If the religion is against adorning the body - then your screwed - but if it is a sign of somthing else to the religion you may have some wiggle room

If wearing a wedding ring is important to you, and you find it uncomfortable to be married without one; then by all means communicate this to him as soon as possible.
Perhaps there is a compromise you two can work out. He goes without a ring; you wear a ring.
I've never run across a religion that does not wear wedding rings. Please post what religion that is; I'm curious.

Is it a deal breaker or not? Up to you. You can't force him. The religous reason is kind of weird, but there are many weird ones out there...
Btw, wearing a wedding ring will not make him not cheat. In a lot of cases women prefer to have casual relationships with somebody that is married: less danger of stalking and other bad repercussions if they want to break up.

What religion? Sounds like a cop out. Seems immature, selfish. What about YOUR feelings? Do you matter in the relationship? You're already at odds about wearing a ring and you're not even married yet, you oughta reconsider this person you wish to spend the rest of your life with. It would be easier to resolve it now than 6 months from now to see you post questions on yahoo answers about what to expect when one files for divorce.

Because of his Religion
He doesn't like Jewellery
What happens at the Wedding when you are to exchange rings?
Make a deal with him. Swap rings at the wedding, then when the night is over .... he can take his off.

Well, maybe.....ask him what religion is he referring too.
Are you going to get married in a church...
Maybe not......
In any case, I have not heard of any religion that cites no
marriage rings. It is a symbol of your commitment to each other. Quite possibly there is......when you get the answer from him let us know too.
Yes, I would work it out, by asking him up front.....
Now after the marriage WITH rings....I can understand some
men work in situations where a ring is a hazard and should not be worn. When not working...ring is on.

Well a ring's just a symbol. I won't wear a ring as it can get caught on machinery.... But I'll wear one on a chain. Then I just keep my shirt buttoned up and there's no chance of it getting caught..... See if that suits him........ What religion is he? I've never heard of that one..... Will he wear a round pendant? that's circular just like a ring is [a ring just symbalises eternity], well a round pendant could symbalise the same thing.
