im sure Ill get blasted for it, and my question will be removed, but I have a request from all faiths today if you please, my college on the east coast is praying for those who died at virginia tech. if you are a college student, please encourage your college to do the same.

I'm watching NBC news right now and there is no word to describe this. I think it's very kind and natural of you to want to ask the world to pray for Virginia Tech. I was praying as soon as I heard about it.

Praying will accomplish nothing but making YOURSELF feel better. Better to make sure that you support antigun laws and changing some laws to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen again.
In other words, actually DO something. This "everyone has the right to bare arms" obviously isn't working.

Really? That's odd. Most of the colleges I'm familiar with on the east coast wouldn't say something like 'we are praying for them'. Because most of them are made up of basically non-religious people.
They don't need your prayers. If there's a god, he let that happen. They could probably use actual support of some sort though.
Oh, and I'd start a protest if my current east coast college tried to pull some crap like that.
