if you have one outstanding amount say,$3000 on your credit report, you call the company to settle but they say, you really owe 8,000 and this is being referred to a third party. what are my chances of it being totally deleted off my credit report if they cannot explain this? (Also, i disputed this and I am now waiting for validation). what are your thoughts?

Rao, What about if they do not respond within 30 days explaining my allegations? isn't it deleted then?

Any bad marks to be completely deleted off your credit record has to come from the creditor requesting it be deleted from your record. You can write a letter disputing it to the three credit bureaus and they will add it as a note to this mark but it wont delete it.
I have gotten something deleted from my record but it took the creditor to willing contact the credit bureaus and request it removed.

If you do challenge something on your report and the creditor does not respond to the credit bureau then that bad mark should be removed from your record. So, yes you are correct with this assumption but only if you challenge this through the credit bureau, not the creditor.
