A friend of mine had acid reflux and she found that all natural Optiflora was very effective and it does not interfere with other medications or supplements. It's a two-product system which includes Probiotic (Bifidus & ACIDOPHILUS...microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS...food source for microflora). Due to it's patented encapsulation process, it guarantees delivery of 500 million live bacteria to the intestines.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

There's no need to cut back. Acidophilus is perfectly safe to take everyday and in fact it is recommended that you do take it daily. I've been taking it daily for about a year now with no problems. If you think you're getting enough from your diet, then cut back, but most of us don't. For normal maintenance, you should be taking about 1-5 billion Colony-Forming Units or CFU (it'll state on the bottle how much it contains).

Yes, but acidophilous does not help acid reflux. I have several relatives that take both. Taking acidophilous regularly can really help your digestion and your immune function but my relatives still needed the prevacid to stop their chronic heartburn. If you have the time I'd take the two at different times but if you have trouble scheduling pills then just take them both with a sip of milk.

Ive had reflux for about 8 years and its now only an occasional problem for me.
Best advice I have is stay away from food with alot of acid.
eat good food, stay away from hydrogenated oils and the like.

I rarely have to take any medication if i eat good foods.
