Ok I took my 1 month old to WalMart Saturday for pics, and she turned a month old that day. The pics were so cute, and she had the cutest pose and expression for a baby to do. So anyways I got a call today from them saying the film wasnt in right so the pics wont print right and they look like x ray pics. I am sooooooo upset. I have the paper showing my order and the pics on it. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any way they can get the pics still. Maybe if they are still in the computer system. I really want them

Unless they were digital pictures that were immediately uploaded to an offsite storage facility, I doubt there's anything that can be done. The small proof sheet that you got won't be any good for scanning and increasing the size. I assume they're refunded your money and have offered you a credit towards a future purchase, if not try to get at least that.

They should have been taken with a digital camera... at least all the Walmarts around here use them in the studios. In that case, they should be able to pull up a digital image, unless it was somehow scrambled. Usually the people who work at the photo place aren't very computer savvy, so you probably won't get far there... I'd call the studio and ask for the number for the main office of the portrait studio. At the very least, they should offer to refund your money and give you a package for free when you set up your next appointment. I had a problem with them telling me that's just the way it was, when there was a line through the center of the pics they took when my daughter was little... the studio was at a Walmart I had never used before, and said that that was just the way the pics always turned out on the disk. No, it was their way of altering the photos just slightly so that the disk was unusable for sharing the pics and printing them off the disk. Now, they don't offer the disk or CD anymore with the packages, so you can't purchase it to print with anymore. Quite a rip off. Call and find out if they can extract the photos from the main office computers (where there's a chance there is a techie who can fix it).

If they are using a film based camera system and it's the film itself that is messed up then there is no way to print those. It shows up on the computer as a digitized image of the film product but only for viewing purposes. It doesn't have anything to do with how it's printed.
If I were you, I'd get her back in for retakes (or go somewhere that actually takes decent portraits...not a fan of Wal-Mart...)
And make sure you get a full refund!

hi, firstly im English. im old, and ive been here a long while... a job at wal mart is a job... working at any photostudio is a step up from being the poor bugger who lives in teh back of them photo machines... (you didnt think they were automatic did you) its not quite as bad as that... but, youll start off as a meeter and greeter... warm the public, this is a BIG part of teh job, people skills... listen to the photographer, and his line of patter... watch what they do... take notes if you have to... but, mostly its all pretty same o same o.... but you will learn valubale skills... and itll bore you to death unless you actually have an interest in it... the actual tecnical skills can be taught in a week or two... putting them into practice takes a lifetime... what cant be taught is creativity... the spark is there, or it isnt... and, if it isnt, get a job at macgonads... or gas a rama filling stations... you arent likely to be selling.. the sales staff do that, and they are good at it... you arent. you will be in a studio enviroment, where photshop skills are pretty redundant... but, its work... and its another string in the bow as we say... taking the photo is just the 1st step.. what we do with that print is where the money and kudos lies... you will learn... then, you just add to it... ive been adding to it for 40 years... teaching others how to... for 20 years... and, ok, only a few select people rise to the top... and become household names, like Bailey and Leibovitz... the rest of us just work for a living... and we keep on learning...

I had my son's Christmas pics taken there because I was broke and I got the stupid proof sheet that looked fine but then when I went to pick up the pictures the lady immediately offered me a reshoot beacuse there was something on my pictures that must of been in the lens. It looked like water spots. I was pissed. I kept the pictures for free and had a reshoot but it's not like you can get the same pictures, they are only that age that day!
Anyhow the next set was great my son even got chosen to be one of the model pictures inside the portrait studio and I got tons of coupons for freee photo sessions and pictures. Even with the free coupons I won't rust them for the important ones.

DId you view the pictures on the computer when all was said and done? If you did then they are blowing smoke up your butt about why you arent going to get your pictures. Here;s what happend to me about three years ago...similar situation. They told me that there was a problem with the film and photo's were not turning out right in color. (this was also my sons one month photo's) I argued and argued about the fact that the color looked great on the computer and I expected they would REPRINT the photo's once the "color issue" was corrected. They advised that this was not possible and I would have to settle for a refund.....Wanna know what REALLY happend to my photo's? The delivery person that brings them to the studio left 4 boxes out in the rain and they were simply ruined. They also "delete" your photo's once the actual pictures are proofed and on their way to the store. It took me 4 months of nagging the general manager to even get the truth. SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS SEARS----this will save you alot of heartache and you can choose to get the photo's right then and there.

yes this happened to me and believe it or not my baby was a month old. they tried to give us a discount and wait till the pictures came in. yes i agree with you its frustrating. I just asked to do them over with all my pics not wait for them a piece at a time. When they gave me a hard time I asked for my money back. I'll go elsewhere. there is no way to get those pics back. sorry!

I have ever heard of that before, and it never happened to me, tell them that you want those pictures, and if they can not give them to you, then you want a full refund. I recommend a place called portrait innovations, they are wonderful, and will have your pictures to you within 20 mins and they are only 10 bucks for your package!

Exact same thing happened to me with christmas cards from walmart last year. I was so mad. I will never go to them again. I've had good luck with Sears. Sorry it happened to ya.
