I had a brother-in-law who tried this ... living off the net. No credit cards, no bank account, no phone #, etc.

But even though he was just squeaking by ... the IRS eventually found him and nailed him.

If organized crime went up against the IRS and lost, there isn't much chance for anyone else.

Some years ago there was a 60 minutes show about restaurant employees not paying tax on their tips. People were interviewed and admitted they weren't paying.

The IRS tracked them down. Laying down an "in your face" challenge like that to the IRS is like waving raw meat in front of a rotweiler.

You can PHYSICALLY leave the country and "formally renounce U.S. citizenship before a U.S. consular officer overseas". Of coarse if you do, you lose ALL benefits of US citizenship. Any other method of avoiding Federal income taxes is illegal.

You can setup your paycheck so they don't with-hold taxes from your weekly pay. However, you will still have to pay those taxes at the end of year.
