How can I use my TV remote control for my laptop?

I want to be able to use my small TV remote control for my laptop that has a fast infrared port built in. I'm looking for like a free basic software to let me control my powerpoint, windows media player, etc.. I tried using IrDA Remote Control and it only let me program one button.

I dont mind buying something. I save up a lot of money all of the time, but just dont like to spend it no matter what the price is (except for soft drinks and candy). So if theres anything cheap, thats cool. Also I dont mind buying anything on ebay as long as it has a warranty.

No... Too messy. Buy something like the Logitech MediaMouse or presentation controller instead.
