MCMXXV Translates into 1925
M=1000
C=100
X=10
V=5
Start with the first thousand, than subtract 100 from the next thousand (any time a lower value precedes a higher, you subtract) than add the last three.

The complete sequence of the Roman numbers is:
M = 1000
D = 500
C = 100
L = 50
X = 10
V = 5
I = 1
The rules are if that you have a little number before of a great one you must subtract, and in the contrary you must add:
CCM = 800 (M=1000 - CC=200)
IIIV = 2 (V=5 - III=3)
MCC = 1200 (M=1000 + CC=200)
VIII = 8 (V=5 + III=3)
You cannot write more of three same simbols except the 'M', so you can write:
XXX=30, but not XXXX 'cause it's in this way XL
idem for D,C,L,V,and I
2315 = MM (2000) CCC (300) X (10) V (5) > MMCCCXV
984 = CM (900) LXXX (80) IV (4) > CMLXXXIV
And so on.
Ciao.
