I mean to say most priests live very nice lives apart from the Carthusians. Jesus said to give up everyhing and"follow me". This does no mean following him and keeping all your riches. If the priests did that and got more involved wih their people ,surely people would feel less isolated from the church and be more tempted to embrace the life of christ because their priests would be living like Jesus instead of like kings. I'm not picking on the catholic church I am just concerned for its well being. I also think ordinary christians should not live in too much riches as it goes against Jesus. Remember Jesus' words?" IT is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle...". Jesus words should still be held with the same reverance today instead of being twisted to fit ones' desires, surely? I will appreciate your kind answers!

Yeah ok, and you live where??? If you are speaking of Catholic priests, you are sorely misinformed. They have very little, and most certainly FAR less than many Protestant ministers.

I really do not know where some of you get your alleged information...

Hey Father K - I'll trade you cars!! LOL...hugs!

God NEVER called us to be poor. Can a poor man travel the world and spread the gospel? Can a poor man feed the hungry? If I make 1.5 million this year how much would you have me give? all of it? 10%. say I give 1/2... this leaves me with $750K. Maybe I do buy a Benz, Maybe I do have a 7000 sqft house. My God wants the best for me. God Doesnt give me wealth to make my life better, but to be a blessing to others. What percentage of your income do you give?

This is the biggest lie of the religious community. Read your bible.

Ecc 5:19 Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

Isa 45:3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (his riches... thats alot)

Wow. "My riches"??? Let's see...do they want my 12-year old car with the front bumper that's being held on with duct-tape? Maybe my broken computer printer? How about my couch...the one I got from the GoodWill store for $345.00??

Are you kidding with this??? You obviously have never met a real Priest in the flesh.

wow, where do you live? i'm sure my pastor would LOVE to come there. i know one priest years ago who had a crown vic - his congregation bought it for him on his 25th anniversary. prior to that he had hand me downs of "P.O.S"'s (as the kids call them today. a parish priest does not make very much money. with it they have to purchase all their clerical garb and vestments. the purchase their own gas to make visits and sick calls. oh and let's not forget.... no matter what ya'll think they make - a priest is on "the clock" 24 hours a day 7 days a week!

Priests take a vow of poverty, they only receive a small check each month to live on, they own nothing
