Chinese symbols are nice get someone to translate it for you. Get someone you can trust or you just might end up with sweet and sour chicken on your arm.

A few points:

1. Its your body, your tattoo should be something meaningful to you (maybe a saying you like translated into another language or a symbol of some sort).

2. Ignore the numb nuts that come out with the "don't get one, it'll put off future employers rubbish". ITS ON YOUR HIP, if you to a job interview, the interviewer would need to have eagle pervert eyes to see it there... unless you go to interviews in your kecks!

3. Just make sure its something your prepared to have on your body for the rest of your life.

4. All the best!

Whatever you do, don't get something you'll regret when you're old and wrinkly..!! Stuff like cartoon characters will look a bit silly when you're 75!! I have 3 tattoos at the moment. All celtic style designs. Hopefully these will never date as they're ancient in the first place. Keep it simple too. Unless you go big, too many colours will look blobby over time. Don't rush into it. Make sure you definitely know what you want. Good luck!

The advise i can give to you is 'think about it..think again and when you have thought about it start thinking again'
I have 5 tattoos and everyone i thought long and hard about getting,
If you want something unique why not design your own? a reputable tattoo artist will be more than happy to put your design to skin as it shows his/her skill as an artist and not just a flash(pictures on the wall) merchant, they may also help you with the design
Whatever you decide make sure you want it for the rest of your life and you are happy with having one

You need to do some soul searching and find something that is meaningful and important to you. You could get something related to you and your heritage, you could get your zodiac, favorite flower, animal. Or you could even take a bunch of designs and have an artist custom draw you a unique tattoo.

Don't just get a tattoo for the sake of getting one, you'll end up with some flash art that you'll hate in a year. Take your time figuring out what you want and where to put it.

Something you can live with, and somethings that means alot to you, nevermind what people think about what you put on your body, I'm a 21 year old female also and I have a tattoo of a treble clef because I love music. I know that it's in my soul, and when I sing I feel free. The next one I get will be something that has to do with my child (when I have one).

Get something that has meaning to you. I have a butterfly on a flower on my hip, because I love those. They to me represent nautral beauty, nature, and peace, and that is what I think of when I see it. That is a very good place to get one though, very smart, you don't want it in a place that will affect you on getting any jobs, so hip is perfect. Also, when you get old it won't look horrible because it won't be showing, hahah. Really though, don't get anything until you are 100% sure of what you want. Go on websites and google tattoos and look at different pictures and take your time figuring it out. Good luck!

I have 2 tattoos, one on my upper arm and one on my ankle. The one on my ankle I designed my self from pictures I gathered, so I no know ones got it. The one on my arm wasn't and all though its still a gorgeous tattoo I wished I'd designed it myself.
Trust me If its something that either you've designed or its something that means alot to you it'll be well worth it. I've recently designed another tattoo for my wrist and I'm getting it done in the summer.

Just want to say as well when you've decided on your tattoo don't buy expensive healing solution, buy Savlon cream (in a blue tube) its the best. My tattoos healed in about 2 weeks. Just apply bout 4-5 times aday its great stuff.

Do you have a friend or know anyone that is a great artist? Does the tattoo artist have a great artistic hand? The two of you could collaborate to come up with a design all your own. Just do me one favor . . . Do NOT put the name of your man on you. It is considered bad luck. Just ask Johnny Depp (Winona), Tommy Lee, Faith Evans (Biggie) and others in your neighborhood that damned their relationship with their mates name on their bodies

There are a million tattoos out there and websites that have loads of designs you could shop for a style all day. You could try designing your own or think of something that represents your personality. I have a tattoo on my waist of my daughters name and one on my upper back of an egyptian cross which means eternal life.

get something simple & meaningful. For instance, a flame, a flower, a symbol etc... Something that you will be proud to display. Think about it for awhile, don't be hasty, make sure it's what you really want. And beware, tattoos are very addictive, once you get one you just can't wait for the next.
