It is a wonderful thing to discuss ones faith with others.
Christians should indeed shout their faith from the rooftops.
A person should not let their light be covered by a basket.
Beating other humans over the head with scripture is not the way to convince anyone of your faith.
Killing others in the name of God is no way to say that your faith is the right one.
Bringing your faith into your life as compassion and understanding is the correct path to take.
Conversion within the realm of religion is short lived. When the truth finally dawns in man, it is mans actions and qualities derived from a simple thing called faith that are really everlasting.
In short man feels comfortable with a thing called "safety in numbers". The masses are generally wrong.
A person should never convert anyone to anything, unless
God has so ordained.....And I have seen very few that are
stamped with Gods seal of approval!!!

If one has faith that their God is the one true God and that those who choose not to follow in his path get the "Express elevator down" then what do you want them to do? That they want to "convert" you is not a negative, but an open expression of concern and affection for your well being. Sure, Christians, Muslims, Budhists, and every other religion wants people to follow their paths and can be quite annoying, even to the point you choose to disassociate yourself with that individual. But one must remember that if they didn't care about you, they would simlpy not discuss the subject with you. So be grateful or an ingrate. That is your choice.

2 problematic words, "feel" and "need".
Those are of the flesh, pride, religion. People that convert from "feeling" and "need" do it in vain.
However, true Christians don't go by feelings or need as if God required them to convert to earn their salvation, but rather they are inspired by the spirit to be used as a vessel of unconditional love and the spirit of God does the conversion.

Gosh some ppl are sooo negative about this.
I'll tell you a good reason why.
Say you BELIEVE in this religion, could be any. In you believing this religion and following it, you also believe that those who do not follow it go to hell. Say you have friends, loved ones, family that you love, but believe they will go to hell. Wouldnt you want the best for them too? You wouldnt just sit there and let it happen. Those who try to convert others are not just doing it for themselves, they want the best for others, and if they think that their religion is whats best...why criticise?
NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE
I AM JUST EXPRESSING AN OPINION
I DO NOT MEAN TO OFFEND ANYONE

I don't know, but they should just let people get on with their lives the way they choose.
when people try to convert others to their way of thinking, its provocative and eventually cause people to retaliate, sometimes with violence, this contributes to war.
religion is good, nothing against it, but if people just kept it within that group, then we would have less problems to deal with. The answer is simple but people choose to live in difficulty.

Its been going on since the beggining of time. It kinda human nature. They want sameness, they feel that unconvertd people are inferior, and hurt their efforts to expand their culture. If you read the novel Heart of Darkness your answer will most surely be answered

It's human nature to try and convince others that what we think is correct.
As far as religion goes, some religions actively tell their followers to "spread the good news".
To my mind it's pointless to do so, as people just get annoyed if they don't believe and get just as annoyed if they believe something else.

As a Christian, I am compelled to go out and bring others to Christ. Matthew 28:19-20 teaches us that we should go and bring others to Christ and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and to teach them how to obey God's teachings. When people go out and convert others, they're not doing it for their health, they're doing it in obedience to God. It's not like anyone's being forced to convert.

The "Great Commission" commands us to go into all nations preaching the word of God. That's probably why Christians feel compelled to try to convert everyone. As far as one Christian trying to convert another Christian into his or her own denomination they should mind their own business and let them decide for themselves.
