The lump is painless and seemed to appear after I had a bad bruise in the same place recently.

I have the same lump, when I run my finger over it I can feel it but cant see it, I got worried so I went to see the doctor, He told me there was nothing to worry about, sometimes like you say when you have a bruise it can leave a lump under the skin but its nothing to worry about, Ive had mine about 6 months now and its still the same size, the doctor told me to keep an eye on it to see if it gets bigger but otherwise its OK. He told me people have lots of lumps and grissle under the skin that we dont know about.

It could be a cyst - harmless but could get bigger as fluid (or something...) builds up around where the trauma happened. I have a cyst next to my eye which I need to get removed. I would see a doctor to get it checked out (I felt a bit silly as mine is so small, but it is worth going and the doctor referred me to hospital right away)

Don't hesitate, go check it up with your doctor tomorrow; only he can help you to find the answer. The sooner you know what it is, the better your health ... and you will be at ease.
