All the men who approach me are latin guys or italian guys. I am flattered but I just wonder how come black guys never approach me. All my previous boyfriends were hispanic and sicilian. They were very sweet to me.There was even this jamaican who came to me for his mexican friend. I am very open minded, but I just find it strange because I'm, 100% black. My parents of course, don't want me to date outside of my race.

I do think they are just intimidated by you. I'm african as well and sometimes, I encounter the same problem. I'm sure that being a good west af gril, you're probably not down with approaching a guy because in our culture, men have to make the 1st moves. My input is: if there's a guy you like, be very friendly. If not, well what's wrong with hispanic men? They're cool! Plus you get to learn about a new culture. As for your family, they can't send you to america and not expect you to adapt to the american lifestyle! Take life as it comes sweetie! Be glad you get hit on as much cause some people have trouble even getting asked out once ... :)

You've said you have been in America for 8 years, so I am thinking you are still a hot commodity. It sounds like a American high school thing, the foreign exchange student comes in and they are the coolest thing since sliced bread. Perhaps you are just too intimidating? Sometimes fear of the unknown, even within similar races, causes people to step back instead of stepping right up to a great opportunity.

Who really cares if they are black, pink, red, or green in another 75 years we will probably be the same color any way . I pass for white I usually have a nice bronze tan all year long and no-one asks me at all if I am black don't worry when the right one comes along you will know.

Do you have a church? Maybe there are African American men there looking for an African woman. Maybe you're so pretty that Black men are afraid of you.

Blacks in America feel intimidated by African women. They see them as more superior so they do not bother dating them.
