When Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, they lost their dominion over it--it was legally taken by satan. He has had legal authority over it since then. That is different than having all power to do whatever he pleases--he is still limited by God, who IS all powerful. He doesn't 'want' satan "running the world", but He will not override what was given to satan by Adam & Eve's sin. God is just to all.
However, when Jesus was resurrected, He took back authority over death, hell and the grave. He was the only one able to do that because He is the only person to ever live a sinless life--which was legally required. Now believers do not go to hades (which had two sides--a righteous side and an unrighteous side)--they go immediately to heaven.
Satan roams all over the earth seeking people he can deceive and destroy for eternity.
1 Peter 5:8--"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
2 Cor. 11:14--"And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."

Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2. He is called the "ruler of this world" in John 12:31. These titles, and many more attributed to Satan throughout Scripture, signify his capabilities. To say, for example, that Satan is the "prince of the power of the air" is to signify that in some way he rules over the world and the people therein.
This is not to say that he rules the world completely, only God does this. But it is to say that God, in his infinite wisdom, has allowed Satan to operate in this world and has allowed Satan to operate with an agenda. When the Bible gives power to Satan over the world it must be made clear that God has given him domain over unbelievers, and unbelievers alone. Believers are no longer under the rule of Satan (Colossians 1:13). Unbelievers, on the other hand, are caught "in the snare of the devil" (2 Timothy 2:26), lie in the "power of the evil one" (1 John 5:19), and are in bondage to Satan (Ephesians 2:2).

this is extremely a extensive assertion. i'm an unchurched christian. i'm nevertheless toying with the assumption of returning to sunday worship. particularly circumstances i've got confidence accountable particularly circumstances i dont. I even have touch with some captivating christians coming from christian communities as distinctive from church homes. perhaps what we are up against is organised faith. some christians interior that organised faith are trapped. they are to no longer be blamed fairly the followers the congregation individuals. separate the fake shepherds from the harmless sheep. the evil one in all path might purpose the church homes and artwork from interior if accessible. i think it incredibly is a undercover agent and counterspy interest. and that's confusing. devil would have taken seats in many of the church homes. yet is that a controversy for no longer sticking at it and getting at him? after all victory has been gained on the go.

The answer to your question starts in Genesis three and ends in Revelation.
This is the short version.
Mat 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Mat 4:9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Well,
I'm a Christian and have never said that.
But there is a lot of Satan all around us.
But God gave us all free will.
If Satan was running the world, (No Christianity) it would be a dark and dreary place.
Peace!

I think that some self-declared worshippers of Jesus/God give Satan much too much credit. They think Satan is more creative than a very narrow-minded God. I don't get it, either--it was one of the things that really stymied me as a churchgoing teenager.

This is where flesh resides and this in all actuality is satans domain. Yes he created the world. Satan only runs those who allow him. Its all part of spiritual warfare.

People see all the problems of the world and they need someone to blame them on. Why not an adversary god? We could point out all the problems of the world, and instead of trying to solve them, we could place blame on an imaginary being, and ask another imaginary being for help. It seems to be working great so far.

Because Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, God the Son, Second Person of the Most Holy and Blessed Trinity, called him the "Price of this world":
"Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." John 14:30

The ones who say that are upset because THEY aren't running the world. And they tend to call anybody who disagrees with them "Satan."
