It is very easy to tell the difference as God is the good. All thoughts of kindness, love, forgiveness, patience, understanding others. Doing good...etc. All that and those desires are from the good. God will never tell you to hate or get even or to steal etc etc. The good within you is of God. Satan will always flatter your vanity and tell you that you are entitled to get what you want and your ego is enflated. Satan is very clever also, he knows more than we do in the spiritual realms so he can fool you. But you will never be fooled if you listen to the voice of surrender to God in all things.

God lives "on high" so he's a tenor. Satan lives "in the depths of Hell" and is a bass.

What you tell your sister will probably reflect your own beliefs (if you have any about this). I just hope you don't fall back on something like, "God tells you to do good things and Satan tells you to do bad things". These are not absolute values and are constantly changing in society (think about war).

The way I see it is that Gods voice is the voice telling you to do the right thing, and it is Satan's voice telling you to go ahead and do what you want no one will ever know.

Satans voice is there to tempt you into doing bad things like the little voice in your head that says "Come on, do it, its not that bad". God however is stronger and can help you overcome any temptation if you pray for help.
