Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to teach that neither Satan nor his demons can foretell the future. However, these "wicked spirit forces" certainly can affect situations and circumstances in the physical world. In other words, the demons can work to maneuver things in order to bring to fruition their previous "predictions".
(Ephesians 6:11,12) Stand firm against the machinations of the Devil; because we have a wrestling, not against blood and flesh, but ...against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.

Before I was a Witness, I visited a few psychics too and found myself in a situation where what a psychic had told me did appear to be coming true. After I had studied a while, it still seemed to be coming true. Even now, if I only view the matter from a human/physical perspective, I could be convinced that the fortune teller had foretold the future. But if I look at it from a different perspective, another possibility presents itself.
Demons are invisible to us. How much fun they must have messing with our little brains. A demon (or demons) could "predict" certain things and then affect events in our lives, as they happen, to make it seem as though these things were coming true.
These predictions are also often given in relatively vague terms. So, where there are holes in a prediction, our brains can fill in the gaps and we will still perceive a fulfillment of the prediction.
What I would suggest is that you go through your home and make sure that anything you have that is connected with the occult is burned. (I know, that seems like a lot of work, but I had a deck of Tarrot cards that I simply threw away. For months and months afterward, we continued to have demon problems and we kept finding individual cards on various shelves in the house (I always kept the deck together in it's box) So- burn it.
If you are not sure about the origins of something, check it out. A friend of mine was having problems- really creepy problems. She, her dad and mom all went through her house and could not find anything they thought was a problem. It was by a fluke that one of them discovered that harlequin masks are tied to the occult. She had been collecting them, not knowing that there was anything objectionable about them. She got rid of them and the problems stopped.
Something to think about is this: People who make a decision to serve Jehovah, and those who are recently baptized often become special targets of demons. So the best thing you can do is focus, focus, focus. Prayer, meeting attendance, service, association with good associates within the congregation- that is where your protection and strength is.
All the best.

The same thing happened to my husband when he was studying the bible.... His family had many demon experiences. What they did is they searched the house for items that were used for spiritism and destroyed them.
Just remember Jehovah is the most powerful. So just keep studying, praying and stay close to him. And as hard as it may be. Do not think about what the fortune teller said. Satan and his demons want you to dwell on this...... so just forget it ever happened.
Trust in Jehovah will all your heart........ I will pray for you too : )

The demons seem as though they actually can predict the future. Especially since they and Satan are in control of the earth right now. So they can tell you what they are going to do in advance.
Notice what this scripture says.
Acts 16:16-19
16 And it happened that as we were going to the place of prayer, a certain servant girl with a spirit, a demon of divination, met us. She used to furnish her masters with much gain by practicing the art of prediction. 17 This [girl] kept following Paul and us and crying out with the words: “These men are slaves of the Most High God, who are publishing to YOU the way of salvation.” 18 This she kept doing for many days. Finally Paul got tired of it and turned and said to the spirit: “I order you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. 19 Well, when her masters saw that their hope of gain had left, they laid hold of Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the rulers
I have more information, but do not want to post on and on. Email me if you would like to discuss more.

1.Guard our emotions.
When we feel restless, anxious, exhausted, hungry, lonely, angry, fearful, it could be Satan or his demons trying to influence us, battling in our mind. He tries to influence our behavior and decisions. Conversely, Jehovah God calms our emotional storms helping us feel content and peaceful.
Rom 12:2 "be transformed by the renewal of your mind"
2. Guard our thoughts.
How can we tell the difference between thoughts from Satan and God? Although the difference should seem obvious, Satan appears as an angel of light and twists everything to his advantage (2 Corinthians 11:14; Luke 4:10). Therefore, we filter our thoughts through God’s Word the bible.
3. Know the Bible in context and use it.
During Jesus’ ministry, He personally faced temptation from the devil by knowing and quoting Scripture (Matthew 4).
4. Put on the full armor of God.
Ephesians 6:10-18 "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
5. Acts 2:21 - "And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.”’

Fortune tellers are trained at "cold reading". If demons are involved, then cold reading is a snap, because all demons do all day is study you and what you do and what you say every day, day in and day out. Every time you whisper something to someone in confidence, the demons are there listening. Everything you do behind closed doors, the demons are there watching. This is why it is SO important to remove everything having to do with spiritism from your home! Ephesians 4:27 says "neither allow place for the Devil." As long as you do, he can study you and learn your weaknesses. Naturally if you fear for a family member's life, he'll taunt you about it and put a guilt trip on you about it. Anything to distract you from the truth, just like several of the people who are "answering" this question. Aside from this, think rationally about all of this; the fortune teller said one of your family members are going to die, right? 4 years later it seems to be true, right? FOUR YEARS??!! If you still have aunts, uncles, grandparents, or even great grandparents still living, aren't they all reaching an age when they're vulnerable to death? If you think about it, you can pick any person at random and tell them someone in their family is going to die and in 4 years it's bound to happen, right? Throw in the fact that you don't even have to be old to die, because Ecclesiastes 9:11 tells us anything can happen at any time! Let me give you a timeline of my family deaths;
1982- my mother died
1987- my grandfather died
1989- my grandmother died
1991- my uncle died
1994- my father died
1997- my aunt died
2001- my other grandmother died
Get the point? I have 2 uncles and an aunt left and that's about it! Satan and demons cannot predict the future, but they can have a very educated guess about individuals whom they've studied! James 4:7 says to "...oppose the devil and he will flee from you!"

What you are going through is very frightening for you, and I am sorry you are facing this. As I read your question, the first thing that came to my mind was that even though Satan cannot see the future, it is possible for him to maneuver things so that these fortunes SEEM to be true. Could it also be possible that because you thought these things were going to happen, without realizing it, you "helped" certain things come true as well?.
It is very good that you are praying to Jehovah for help in this regard. When it comes to prayers, it is very important that you have faith. Hebrews chapter 11 discusses what it means to have faith and in verse 6 it brings out: "Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please [him] well, for he that approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him"
You must really have faith that Jehovah will answer your prayers, and you must have faith that what this "fortune teller" told you really and truly does NOT control your future.
By your giving these "fortunes" credibility, it seems as though it is causing you to doubt your faith in Jehovah's abilities.
Also, remember, whatever Satan does to us or our loved ones, Jehovah can undo.
It might be good for you to also look over chapter 10 in the "What Does the Bible Really Teach" book. (Since you are studying, I am assuming you have one) It talks about resisting wicked spirits. I especially appreciate paragraph 18.
Another chapter you might like to read is Chapter 17. It discusses drawing close to Jehovah. Reading your Bible daily and praying are very important in developing the faith you are needing to overcome this fear.
Much success and hugs from me to you.

Trust in Jehovah with all your heart. Not your own understanding.
This is a good time of year to ask that question.
One aspect of Passover is removing the yeast from your food and home.
Food is what you put into your mind (not bread alone...)
Home is where you live.
Get rid of that which attracts evil into your life and that of your loved ones.
You may have to take another Christian "that is mature" with you as you do this cleaning.
Pray. And you may have to fast. see Jesus words on this. link below.

HI! I am glad that you are studying with Jehovah's Witnesses. You probably were told when you first started to study that Satan would attack you hard. He doesn't like anyone to learn the truth...
1 Peter 5:8: "Keep YOUR senses, be watchful. YOUR adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour [someone]"
I believe that Satan and his demons have what ever power we give them...by worrying about what might happen, we tend to give things more power than they deserve (this is just my opinion, and not necessarily a bible teaching, but what I have observed with my life personally).
Keep praying to Jehovah, just like you have been. Ask him to help you see the truth in this situation. Don't let Satan have any of your time. this is just a ruse to keep you pre-occupied with worries that keep you from concentrating on the more important things. don't give Satan the upper-hand (or any hand for that matter)!
Some times things happen and they really are just coincidence. I think that Mr. Cal gave you a really good answer...
Satan and his demons certainly do use foretune-telling mediums to their advantage, and it is never safe to contact that sort of person. Keep those doors that lead to the demons closed!
When we believe something that is wicked, we can invite disaster, so try and just learn more about Jehovah and his purposes and try and do all you can for him..."seek first the kingdom"
Things have a way of working out when we are praying and doing all we can in service to Jehovah! I hope this helped.

Isaiah 54:17 says Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success, and any tongue at all that will rise up against you in the judgment you will condemn. This is the hereditary possession of the servants of Jehovah, and their righteousness is from me,” is the utterance of Jehovah." It is important that you remember this and continue to put your faith and trust in Jehovah.
Hebrews 2:14 shows that Satan has the means to cause death and Acts 16:16-24 shows that Satan and his demons can indeed for tell future events in some instances.(Enough to deceive individuals into putting faith in them. They may cause certain events to occur, or because of their superior intelligence, be able to deduce future events the way you are able to deduce what will happen if you place a pot of water on the stove) I do not know what the problem may be with your relative, but do not give Satan the satisfaction that you are willing to bow to his will. It does not work. Read the experience of one of our dear sisters who was in similar situation to yours in the 12/22/2000 Awake. There are others, but this is the one I found first.
I found the one I originally had in mind. It is the September 1, 1987 Watchtower. Sister Lintina van Geenen battled wicked spirits before and during the time she was learning the truth. I believe her experience will be faith strengthening for you.
