Cathokics are always thinking on the second coming of Christ.
When we take the body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus in the sacrament of the Eucharist, we proclaim that He has died, has risen and he will come again.
After the consecration where the bread and wine are turned into His body and blood, we say:
Christ has died, has is risen, christ will come again.
Plus, lately there is a devotion extending throughout all the world, is called the divine mercy chaplet, after a revelation that St maria Faustina Kawalsk received from jesus in 1930. She was told by jesus to paint an image of Christ with two rays coming off his side, one red one white symbolizing the blood and water, eucharist and baptism. By this image She should tell everybody to think on his mercy, that he is mercy and that god is granting a special outpouring of mercy before the day of His justice, his second coming. Jesus told her to say the following prayer:
Eternal father I offer you the body and the blood, soul and ivinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of his sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Anyways, check it out, it's on the internet, just type in on google
Divine mercy sunday or divine mecy chaplet
Jesus said that whoever takes communion worthily on the second sunday of easter (yesterday) wil receive complete remission of sins and punishments of sin.
It is a beautiful prayer because we focus on God;s mercy rather than his justioce, and that it doesn't matter how hard your sins, they are noting before God's mercy. he is asking us to turst in Him, with all we have.
there is an impending sense running among many catholics that trully now the day of justice is approaching and because of that jesus is giv ing us this last grace.
Jesus I trust in You
God bless

I agree with Father K. As priests we do all that we can do to prepare others for Christ's coming and as another poster said we do address the fact that He will come again at every Mass. I am curious as to why you would believe that Protestant Christians are better prepared than Catholic Christians. That supposition would be opposed to the Sacred Traditions of the Church including the Holy Scriptures.

actual; even though, it qualifies him for the Christian Christ. i'm sorry yet Judaism did no longer invent the messiah. God did. The messiah (however the be conscious is hebrew) became right into a concept in the past Judaism became into created yet Moses. The Egyptians had it, and the Hindus have it. Neither of those have been inspired via Judaism in the time this concept became into shaped. additionally if the Christian Christ is the Messiah foretold in the scriptures in the comparable passages because of the fact the Jewish Messiah then why might the prophets of previous point out a 2nd coming? the type of concept could have been thoroughly pointless to the folk looking forward to the Christ/Messiah. the coolest information or message became into in his FIRST coming no longer in the 2nd. as far because of the fact something this is your interpretation of those passages. who's to declare that there is not extra interpretations of the passages than yours. in ordinary terms God does and he hasn't spoken to you when you consider that who? Malachi! BTW: I even have asked and that i've got not gained an answer: the place do you get this concept that the messiah would desire to do each little thing in one lifetime? or is it basically assumed? additionally just to show out i'm no longer attempting to %. a combat or something i'm basically attempting to stretch your strategies somewhat. I basically see a superb type of holes on your declare and the declare of the admired Christians that in the time of standard terms one in all your messiahs exist.

You don't hear about the Second Coming of Christ? Odd, I hear about it at every single Mass. You know, that part that goes, "Let us proclaim the mystery of faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again." It's said at every Mass.
However, you're right in that it's not generally preached about openly from the pulpit. That's more of a Protestant specialty. Catholics would believe that the sacraments, particularly the Holy Eucharist, is indeed a preparation for the Second Coming. In the Eucharist, we are invited to remember Christ's sacrifice, and to continue doing so until the end (i.e., Christ's return).

Since no one knows when Jesus will come again, the only way that we can prepare for the second coming is to live a life that Jesus commanded us - love your God with all of your heart, mind, and soul and your neighbor as yourself. This is what Catholic priests preach about.
The reason it is not preached about a lot from the pulpit is because jesus himself did not talk about it a lot.

Providing the Body of Christ with the Sacraments (especially Baptism, Holy Communion, Confession and Absolution) IS getting the people ready.
You might want to go back and read your Confirmation homework again. Soon.

We aren't 'preparing' for it, we are just being made aware of it. My chruch teaches straight from the bible and we went through revelation recently, and we learned about how it's going to take place but we aren't like preparing for His arrival, we are ready whenever he returns.

If Jesus comes back? From where, space? Questions like these seriously make me doubt how bright mankind's future is.
