The guy told me he's from Spain, but working in Itally, and his company shipped him for a big project in Nigeria, five days in there and he emailed me about the accident (rubbed) that killed two of his co workers and left him with nothing. He needs my help, he needs me to send him about five thousand dollars to get him out of there. I told him I don't have that kind of money. Now, he's asking for five hundred dollars or any amount of money. He even gave me a phone number and email addy, his secretary in Itally to call and verify his identity, but she doesn't answer her phone, only emailed me back and says it's true. She couldn't get a hold of him sinced he left, they were worry about him, but there's nothing they can do, if I am the only one he can contact, help him first. What do you all think?...I really like the guy, and before you all yell at me, let me tell you that he's the most charming guy I ever met. I'm falling hard for him...well, till he asked me for money, anyway.

It's a scam, don't send him anything. Check out Yahoo groups on scammers from Nigeria. They all have a story, and some work for months to build up trust with their victims. Do NOT send this person any personal information or money. There's a reason you can't get hold of the 'secretary' - I repeat do NOT send this person any info or money. They are ALL charming. I know people who fell prey to this. Email me if you want.

No! Don't give him any money. This sounds like such a huge scam! Especially since you cannot get a hold of his Secretary and she only e-mails you back, how do you know it is not him that is e-mailing you back? it just seems WAY to suspicious to be valid... what are the chances? think of it this way - what are the chances that you'll end up with this guy (because you said you were falling for him) - if the chances are slim, why bother? People do a lot of shady things on line and a lot of people pretend to be who they are not. It's not my decision but i would not and I'd be running the other way.

This absolutely follows the format of what have come to be known as "419" scams. DO NOT send him any money. No matter how charming and nice this person may seem to be, the story is absolutely false and all he wants from you is money. It is a scam that is perpetrated on many innocent victims.

DO NOT send any money whatsoever under any circumstances. It's a scam and you will never hear from him again, unless he thinks he can scam you out of even more money.

You mean you actually have to ask if it's a scam? Of course he's charming...HE'S a Scam ARTIST. Delete his addy from your address book and mark his e-mail as spam and pull yourself together. He Lies Like a Rug. ( This exact same scam was featured on a radio program. If you send the 500, he will empty out your account and steal your identity.) It will never end for you if you don't end it NOW.

Sorry, but that guy sounds like just another typical scammer. You need to cut contact with this guy, now.. and whatever you do, do not send him any money.

Of course he is the most "charming guy you've ever met". That's all part of the scam. I'm sure you are not the only one he is "charming" right now, trying to weasel people out of their money.

Don't fall for it.

Don't send money. I think he is a member of an Nigerian gang, and this so called secretary is his mate, or he himself has answered this email. Email on internet you can open everywhere in the world. This secretary does not exist.
Of course he first has been charming you, so you are soft and believe him. That's his tactics. Take care and cancell the contact.

You stated that he has a secretary. Think about it, what guy has a secretary that he can pay, but can't afford to get himself the money to get home? AND if he can contact you, then he why can't he contact his secretary or some other friends with money. Why you? Why someone he has not even met before. I agree with all of the other responses...It's a scam. Run hard and run fast from this disaster.

this sounds like a scam. here is how i know. first of all, if he is asking you, someone that he doesn't know personally, for money; that is a good indication that he is just trying to get some money from you for other reasons. the phone number of the person you talked to is probably his friend. just think about it, would you be asking a stranger for money? i'm sure that he can get a hold of his family and close friends much faster. don't send him money, as a matter of fact to message or chat with him again.

You are being scammed. Go to any dating site you will see the same thing. Someone claims to be from your area, then you find out they live in Russia or Nigeria. I bet his picture looks like it came right out of G.Q. I got about 10 of them within a week the web site catches them and they are deleted. Advise: If your on a dating site wait at least a week before anwering to any new profiles.
