My dog was just outside throwing up a LOT of bright yellow liquid. What is this from? He is an 18 month old Rottie/Pitbull that chews a lot, he does tend to eat what he chews if no one is around to stop him from chewing, but we have been home all day and he has not done any chewing lately. He gets only dry food, once a day at about 5- he hasn't been fed yet today. He also gets a dog biscuit for large breeds, 1 in the morning, 1 at about noon, and 1 in the evening. He always has fresh water available, and he drinks a lot (we think due to the fact that we only give him dry food). He was not interested in drinking when he came back inside. He has done this before. What is going on? And why in the world would it be this color?

He was throwing up stomach bile. He has a very up set stomach perhaps because his stomach is so empty. He could have also eaten something nasty too. If you have changed his dog biscuts then it could be from that too. Some dogs just get upset stomachs for no real reason.
I'd only get real concerned if it is a constant thing. Then you would have to bring him into the vets to see whats going on with your boy. OK

My Miniature Pinscher did that a couple of times but he stopped after I adjusted his feedings. Im not a vet but I think my dog was throwing up because he had an empty stomach, and the yellow stuff was stomach acid. I say this because those times he threw up that Yellow foamy liquid he wasnt fed at his usual time and he might of been hungry. I feed my dogs in the morning between (7:00 - 9:00 am ) and later at ( 3:00 - 5:00pm) that way they are never on an empty stomach and It hasnt happened since.

That yellow liquid is bile. It can be quite a vibrant colour, it's so acidic. It can be foamy or mucousy too. It sounds like he has swallowed something pretty wrong - he could've vomited it back up, or it could've worked it's way into his intestine if it's something solid. Either way, if he's vomiting bile it means it's affected him pretty badly. My guess would be it's something he ate a while ago that has now made it's way into his intestine. If this is the case, he would be feeling pretty rough, and not much like eating or drinking.
Please take your dog to the vet asap. I'm not saying it IS what i've described above - but it doesn't sound good, and the risk of what it could be is too great to leave it. Your vet can feel the dog's abdomen and see if there are any areas of swelling, gas, or if anywhere seems tender - classic signs of a foreign object, as well as other bad things.
Good luck at the vets,
Chalice

R and a couple of the others are right. You dog is throwing up bile,, which usually happens from having an empty tummy for too long. My dog used to do the same thing. The vet told me to try feeding two smaller meals instead of one big meal or give a mid morning or afternoon snack.
Good luck. I hope you doggy feels better soon.

Dogs will throw up when they have worms. Has the dog been checked. This is done from a stool specimen. The Vet. will test the stool.
Dogs will go outside and eat grass when they have a upset stomach. The grass helps the dogs throw up and this gets rid of what they shouldn't of eaten.
If the dog is not eating nor drinking I would see the Vet.
The dog probably didn't drink right after it threw up due to it still not feeling well.
Keep a close watch on him.
If you have any doubt take him to the VET.
