Hang on while I empty my mouth, its full of chocolate at the moment. Only because I was conducting an experiment on your behalf. I tried a radish, and some lettuce then the chocolate and guess what? You are sooooooooo right.

Because your body and tastebuds become accustomed to what you eat. If you began eating healthy foods your body would within a very short period of time crave those as well.
Healthy food does not have to taste bland. There are many ways to spice up food. With healthy choices the boring lettuce can be made into a great lasagna or sandwich..

Actually, the stuff that's "bad" for us is only bad because it's in concentrated form in those foods; and because the prosperity of our society allows us to have these concentrated forms as often as we want them (which is far more than how often we need them).
Once upon a time, it would have been rare and difficult to get food sources rich in fat and sugar, so our body has learned to regard these as wonderful treats. Now that fat and sugar are so readily available, we have created all kinds of delicious dishes which concentrate them, and we have them too regularly. That's whay makes them bad - having too much, or too often.
The reason that things like lettuce and radishes are considered "good" is because most people don't eat enough of those other things their body needs to operate. Fat and sugar are great for concentrated energy, but they're terrible for long-term nutrition.
It's all about balance! Fat, salt, and sugar are very good for you - in the correct proportion to the rest of your diet!

(if you believe in evolution or not this is true) back when we were still "discovering fire" we needed to consume fatty foods in order to survive long winters. And cave men not being the smartest didn't know that meat and sugars had a lot of fat in them but they knew that they tasted good and therefore they survived by eating it. That is also why fruit tastes so good, because of its good for you and your supposed to eat alot of it. Back then there wasn't a whole heck of a lot to eat that tasted good, and unfortunately in today's society there is too much food jam packed with sugar that would be okay for you, but we have too much of it.

If you don't eat sweets or foods high in fats, fruits and vegetables taste absolutely delicious. It's a matter of acquisition.
Also, it feels good to be high on drugs, but they are bad for you...

I often wonder why chocolate is not classed as a vegetable, it's made from the cocoa bean and if all beans are vegetables then surely it's good for us

I totally agree! I was thinking the other day why is the healthy food more expensive than the junk food? Doesn't that just tempt us to buy the junk food?
