I figure that I'm allergic to something that is in both root beer and oreos because I get a MAJOR migraine when I eat either. I try to stay away from them now. But does anyone know specifically what it could be that's in both foods that my body is allergic to? Are there even common ingredients?

You don't have to be allergic to a food for it to be a Migraine trigger. Nor do the foods that are triggers for you have to contain common ingredients. Some people are sensitive to large amounts of sugar. That's a possibility to explore. The bottom line though is that you may never find out why these two foods are Migraine triggers. Something else to keep in mind is that a trigger food can bring on a Migraine up to 48 hours after it's eaten.

I always get a migraine from root beer. The more natural the brand, the worse the migraine for me. Check this site out:

Ready made products can have a lot of odd additives.

I would say caffiene, the chocolate and the soda. But leaving them out of your diet sounds wise.

I recently saw someone measure out the number of grams of sugar there are in a standard size soda. It was 1/3 of a cup, and of course cookies have sugar. So sugar is a possibility.
