Jesus was all cool with women. He first revealed Himself to women after he was brought back, he had women in his group, he taught women, and so forth.

Then God came along and screwed everyone over.

Isn't there a difference?

I know my theology is poorly worded.

Remember dear ... it was MEN who wrote the Bible. God didn't say/do most of what's attributed to him in the Bible.

Honestly, I don't know where some of you people are getting your facts and opinions from, but God NEVER came along after and screwed over ANYONE! If that were the case, then JESUS being GOD would have screwed over everyone as well!!!
Jesus told His followers, that He was the FATHER(God), especially His disciple Phillip who ask HIM,
' Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, You neither know me, nor my Father: if you had known me, you should have known my Father also. '(John 8:19)

Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. If you had known me, you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen him. Philip said unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it will suffice us. Jesus said unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how do you say then, Show us the Father? (John 14:6-9)
You see, there is NO difference between the Son and the Father nor the Holy Spirit!!! They are the 'Three-One-God'! the Blessed Trinity!!! So the Father in Heaven VIEWS women just as lovingly and respectfully as the Son, Jesus does!

No, its not poorly worded. It was not God or Jesus that had attitudes about women, it was the culture and society of the time...and a little Paul and Peter thrown in.

I have to remind myself of that a lot. How we are now is not how the world was then. Anyway...I think God loves women and I know Jesus loves women. My mom used to say if you took the women out of the church the roof would cave in and I believe it. But don't blame God...even now...blame old outdated attitudes and stereotypes and a little on Paul and Peter even though I think they would be different if they were writing to churches today, lol.

My pal did somebody inform you that there is a distinction or did you arrive at this by using your deep learn of the Bible? in my opinion it extremely is extremely no, none, no longer one spot, speck, or finite component diverse interior the God of the previous testomony and what Jesus says approximately God interior the hot. God can no longer and could no longer exchange and in case you spot any straight forward exchange you are able to understand that the only you call or think of to be God isn't God, That Jesus is a liar, or that possibly you do no longer understand precisely what's written interior the Bible the two interior the previous or the hot testomony. in case you spot some ameliorations look at my profile and digital mail me with them and that i will a minimum of inform you techniques I see it as no longer a distinction. Do have a good day and do study lots.

You said Jesus was cool with women, and then God came along and screwed everyone over?
What exactly does that mean?

2007-04-16 09:19:49 · answer #5 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Not really.

Jesus wrote none of the Bible. All the stuff that was attributed to Jesus was written decades after his death, if he existed at all. If there is any truth in it, there is no way to really say what it is.

God wrote none of the Bible. All the stuff that was attributed to God was derived from earlier myths or just made up. There is no real evidence that indicates that any gods, let alone the Christian one, exists.

There is not much difference between one religious fable and another.

No. God and Jesus are the same. He said in the word that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit are one. God didn't screw anyone.

well Jesus was very cool with women. The very first women that he really respected was his mother (Mary) . In the bible jesus is refered to as 'The Lord Jesus Christ The Son of God' in Quran Jesus is reffered to as 'Jesus Son Of Mary ' in Quran Jesus is also reffered to as ' Jesus Peace Be Upon Him' Odd it may seem but Jesus Son Of Mary was creation of God like you and I and not 'SON' of God, You and I are son or daughter of our mothers and fathers. God did not Physically Fathered Jesus. Religiously Jesus is a highly respected person as a 'Son Of God' by christians and as a 'Jesus Son Of Mary' by the Muslims. My husband and I went to watch The Passion Of Christ in the local cinema god knows why there were more Jews then Christians or Muslims watching the movie.

Isn't there a difference?

well according to most religious scriptures Jesus whether he is refered to as JESUS SON OF GOD or JESUS SON OF MARY his job was to convey gods/allahs message and the message was to :
1stly Believe in God
2ndly Believe in Jesus
3rdly Be Good to others
4thly believe in life after death etc..
5thly Pass on the gods words to others
jesus was only saying what god has asked him to tell people. After his death things are ammended to suit people

I think you should read the book of John (In the Bible) chapter 14. It speaks about how Jesus himself said that He was equal to God (He was God).

There's a huge difference.

1) God is all wise, but Jesus grew in wisdom.

Luke 2:52--And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Hebrews 5:8 and 9--Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered; and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

2) God has limitless knowledge, but Jesus had limited knowledge.

Mark 13:32--“But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

3) God is, and always has been, perfect, but Jesus needed to attain perfection through his suffering.

Hebrews 2:10--In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

4) Jesus received holy spirit at his baptism. If Jesus were God and the holy spirit were God, then God would have been anointed with God by God. What purpose would this have served? We know why people are anointed, but what power could God give to Himself? Jesus was given the gift of holy spirit, the same gift he now gives to believers today.

Mark 1:9-11--At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan; As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove; And a voice came from heaven: “You are my son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”

5) God cannot be tempted, but Jesus was tempted in every way just as we are.

James 1:13--Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted with evil and He himself tempts no one;

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.

6) God does not need to be strengthened, but Jesus did.

Luke 22:43 and 44--An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him; And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

7) God cannot die. Scripture tells us that God is “immortal,” which means “not subject to death,” but Jesus died.

Romans 1:22 and 23--Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools; and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Hope that helps
