There is a product on the market called "Swim Ear" that you can put in your ear canal after swimming or bathing. It removes the water in the ear. You can also use a few drops of rubbing alcohol (the major ingredient in Swim Ear). The alcohol gets rid of the water in the ear.
I use alcohol in my kids ears if they have been in the water a long time. They tend to get ear infections from the water trapped in the ear, but no infections since I've been using the alcohol.

Use a q-tip to GENTLY drain the water out of the ear, and laying down with that ear on the bottom will help this process.

Gently shake your head with the affected ear pointing down, or lay down on a pillow and let the water drain.

Don't put anything in your ears! tilt your head to one side, then tilt it to the other side
