Well, option 1. of course is to learn spanish. Ask him to teach you. Get some tapes, take a class. Watch spanish TV. If you surround yourself with it it will sink in.

Being able to communicate with your boyfriend is the most important thing. If you really want to communicate with his family better, take Spanish course. Even if you don't have the time to go to a class, you a take an online or correspondence course. Get a Spanish-English dictionary and practice with your boyfriend and his family. I'm sure they'll be happy to help you.

Get the free program at Before You Know It's website and start learning Spanish. If you have the money, you could get the Rosetta Stone course, but it is expensive. Look online to start learning Spanish. Tell your boyfriend you want to learn. You are lucky - you have a built-in teacher and someone to practice with! Just take the first step to learning their language. They will greatly appreciate it!!! :)
Also, see if any of them are interested in learning English. Maybe you, your boyfriend and them can get together to have lessons. You try to teach them English (with your bf's help) and they can try to teach you Spanish (with his help).
Good luck! :)

Either have your boyfriend translate some words for you. Or have him teach you to speak some spanish, Or buy and englishh/spanish dictionary. You could also try to take some classes that would most likely help you learn spanish

You should learn to speak Spanish. Your boyfriend speaks English to your family so it would be fair if you do the same.

You only have a couple of choices - either stop worrying about it and accept it for what it is or ask him to teach you some of the phrases so that you will at least be able to pick up some of what is being said. Take some classes at your local high school at night or at the college, or just ask your boyfriend to teach you for like a 1/2 each night. Good luck and God Bless.

Have you tried asking your boyfriend for help? That'd be a good starting point. Also consider taking spanish language classes.

Ask him to translate for you. Or start by learning basic Spanish phrases to help you understand a little bit better.

tell him first that you don´t feel good about it and for him to help you by translating for you when they´re talking spanish. He SHOULD do it until you have the time to learn his language and feel more comfortable-if not find somebody that you "understand" and he "understands" you
