My chunky tele has blown up and i'm looking furtively for an LCD tv but the jargon and specs are frying my brain.

I have a budget of £0 - 600 and was looking for something between 28" - 37" preferably with built in digital tuner.

Can anyone out there reccommend a decent set? Most important feature has to be picture quality.

Thanks.

Check out anything from Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Toshiba or Hitachi. You really cannot go wrong with any of them.

Steer clear of the Argos and supermarket cheap 'n' nasty brands (Orion, Techwood, Bush, Goodmans, Limit, etc, etc.). The picture quality on 99% of them is truly abysmal...

Hubby and i have been looking for a 32" around the £500 mark. We used a lot of price comparison sites to compare features, and ended up torn between an LG and the one we settled on - Toshiba 32 Regza, with inbuilt freeview. Model number 32C3030D

We have it on order from Dixons online, priced at £529 (there's a £10 promotional code at the moment). There are a couple of cheaper deals out there (eg pixmania), but when you include delivery, they're much the same. A lot cheaper than retail prices though.

What swayed us towards this was the spec, the styling and the sound.

Contrast ratio - a whopping 4000:1 (when most similar priced models are around the 1000:1
Audio is 2x20W speakers with SRS Wow, SRS 3D and SRS Focus, Bass boost

Hi - stretch to the best Sony Bravia you can afford - the quality of the picture is worth the extra £'s - but you'll only get 26" for your budget unless you catch a special offer.
The main thing is to ensure you can view the screen from the side and still see the picture - otherwise you have to sit dead in front of it.
Tesco Direct has some good prices.
Hope this helps...!

if you have the space a DLP projector would be my choice. you can get them now with pulldown screen for under $900 US dollars. they are small and easy to set up but you do need an open space of 15 feet by 10 feet and require a little more in setup and placement. A 120" screen always beats a 28" screen in my book. infocus is a good brand for the money and the screenplay model works well for home theaters

I have an Olevia 37" and I love it! It cost me 800 bucks from shopnbc.com. I did a lot of research before I settled on this one. A few sites I went to for my research are www.epinions.com & www.consumerreports.org . I've had my Olevia for about 6 months and have absolutely no complaints.

Hi, I bought my TV from this company www.zenmonster.com they do not have a big selection but if you call them they can special order anything that you want almost and will work with you on price. I ended up getting something that they did not even have listed. My 2 cents worth hope it helps.
