Kids between 13-18 should be able to go the mall by themselves!!!

No absolutely not, 16 on up with with a friend shopping. A mall is for shopping not for kids to hang out. Kids today have no manners. And arent responsible. Well I shouldnt say all kids. But those kids ruin it for all the good kids. A 13 yr old at a mall with out parents is asking for trouble. Alot of parents think a mall or the movies is a babysitting spot for there kids.

The mall near me just implemented a policy prohibiting kids in this age group from being there alone on Friday and Saturday nights. The mall is now quieter, safer and a more pleasent place to be. More people will shop there because of this. It is a good thing.
Unfortunately, this is a case where a handfull of bad kids were making it necessary to have this policy. They were not allowed to only kick out the troublemakers for racial reasons.

I think it depends on how responsible the child is and that they know what to do during an emergency! Similar to the quality not quantity saying. Also if your child does go to the mall at the age of 13 or around that age ENFORCE the buddy system HAVE THEM TAKE A FRIEND!!!

Kids between 13-18 tend to cause most of the problems in a mall. Malls are free to set policies on who's allowed to come. BZZZT. See you when you're older, unless your mom comes along.

I'd have to ask, what is the purpose of being at the mall? If it's to hang out, I'd say no way. At 18, a kid should be old enough not to want to hang out at the mall.

Oh yeah! I think all of those ages, even 12 if they are with some friends and definetly 16-18 should be able to with no question.

13-14 with a parent somewhere in the building. 15 and older seems appropriate, in a group for safetey reasons. You can't do much about 18 year olds they're technically adults.

Our local mall just implemented a new rule that the parents needed to be there because there was way too much violence....I guess it's just another case of the bad kids ruining it for the good....sorry!!
